I think the QB limits them, also they don't have a big receiver like Jones anymore, but Richardson & Maze are as talented as it gets.

I agree with everything else you said, but AJ is a good QB. I think he's gonna be the best we've had here in a while. This game falls on the play calling in my opinion.

As for Mark talking about the pass attempt thing, the reason teams don't throw a lot against Bama is because they don't wanna get beat. Your two examples, WVU and Oregon, how did those game turn out for them? Just because they scored more points don't mean anything, they lost. So did Bama unfortunately, but I think most will agree that it was little bit better game.

If you throw the ball a lot against Bama they will shut you down. You have to make them respect your run game in order to be consistently effective in the air. It is supposed to be well known that teams that don't throw the ball a lot against Bama have the best chance to beat them. One dimensional offenses are not effective. Their last five losses have come against teams that threw the ball 20 times or less. Even with as sorry as the media is at breaking down games, they even see the obvious. You make them play the run and then hurt them in the air at the right times. That is the only effective way to approach Saban's defense. Simply watching high octane, pass happy teams throw it up and down the field against unrelated opposition is a poor way to make a point. To many college football fans are distracted by shiny objects on the ground.

in fairness we didn't lose because we threw it. We lost because our true freshman in his first game fumbled the ball 3 times inside the 20 yard line and our regular punt returner (Cliff Harris) wanted to drive 118 and smoke it all.

It wasn't our offense that lost the game for us.

Our defense had short fields to work with and they're not good enough to have short fields over and over and come out with a win.

This^^^Ore got in a hole early and made them predictable.
