First of all he didn't have problems with his neck and that's the focus of the physical. Second Manning has been very durable and if Elway & Co builds an offensive line around him that won't get him hammered, he'll be just fine.

Manning should retire & Elway could bring back Jay Cutler!:gaah:

Looks like a very good chance that Wade Phillips will be our next DC! I like this move. Most likely though switching to the 3-4.

I think fixing the Offensive Line needs to happen regardless of Peyton Manning returning or not.....

Can't find now where I saw that there is a good chance of it happening. He has been one of my top choices from day 1 so I would definitely be excited to see what he brings to the table.

I think Miller would excel but Ware? I think he had one huge season under Phillips but I seem to remember he wasn't fond of it. Could definitely be wrong though. I'm not sure we have D-Ends and LB's to play that 3-4 scheme really well. It would certainly be interesting though.

The Bengals could be looking for compensation for VJ and it could just be a negotiation.

THIS! One of my concerns is how much influence does Manning have in these decisions? There were a couple occasions (at least) last season where Osweiler should have come in (and expected to come in) only to have Manning trot back onto the field. While we finally DID see Oz in the Raider game, he should have been put in at least one series prior, if not earlier. (I did like what I saw in his TD drive though. Showed good touch in those passes to Green.) After 3 seasons, Oz shouldn't still be an enigma to outside observers. While the Denver brass said they were confident in Osweiler's skills, they need to SHOW that confidence more.

Exactly. I really think that there is an opportunity -- assuming that PM returns -- to both better evaluate Oz and to keep Manning as healthy as possible for the entire season. Doing so will surely take some innovative thinking, but I think that the idea of having a competent backup QB on the road to championship is not one lost on Elway.

So at this point we have Emmanuel Sanders, DeMarcus Ware, a few Denver Reporters who reportedly are close to the situation, and now John Lynch (who spoke to Manning recently) all claiming he is coming back and has plans to work his tail off this off season to be ready.

Honestly my issue has not been with the idea of whether Manning could play another season. I think physically he is still about the same level as what we saw in the 2012 season. Yes there are concerns of can he last an entire season. My issue has always been does Manning have the drive to endure another season with all the ups and downs that come with any season? Brett Favre in his last season it was blatantly obvious that he just didn't have the same passion for the game. He didn't work as hard throughout the week, didn't put as much time into film study, didn't hand out with teammates as much as he did before, heck missed a good chunk of the off season preparing with the team. From the sounds of it though Manning still has that same love for the game and desire to be great during the season.

I don`t think any Bronco/ Manning fan, hell NFL fan even questions his desire, determination, work ethic, etc, to play another season or beyond. That to me so far anyway is a given. I have no doubt a Manning led Bronco team will once again own the AFC West this yr. like you stated CD, is can he be that "healthy" guy when it matters most. Crunch time. There isn`t a player alive or dead that works harder than Manning and have the drive he has. That`s not the issue. I know lot of people think that if we run more and get help on O-line to protect Manning and minimize the potential for punishment and thus we win the lottery and we have a 100% Manning led Bronco team headed to the PO`s. Really? Do people really believe that`s even possible? No. He`s going to still take some hits. It`s inevitable. My concern regardless how "less hits" he takes which really has no bearing on how he is going to feel physically after " normal" long season at 39 yrs old. He`s going to being alot more fatigued, drained than anybody else on that team, not to mention the mental fatigue to go with it. The odds for Manning to guide Denver to another AFC West title are extremely high. The odds for him to not be in the same shape as he was last 5-6 gms and into playoffs this year are much lower. That said, I`m with you guys on the fact that Denver has to ride with Manning if he is willing and able, because they then have no choice. If Manning states he will be back, there is no Oz. It`s SB run with Manning or bust again, unless he`s injured befor that. Then you take your shot with the "same" Oz. A guy who didn`t get much time to gel with 1st team again. Maybe they can find a way to work Oz in with 1st team more often, give him some 4th qtr action during season if the game permits. But that`s highly unlikely,as it`s difficult to do that with any NFL team let alone a Manning led one. Going to be interesting no doubt gents.

Manning coming back makes me very happy. Pats have chosen the likely replacement for Brady and Brady appears to have more time on the clock. At the beginning of the season, I asked Broncos fans if they were happy with the planning for the future. Lots of good answers but neither you nor I believed them.....

I think the issue with Manning's replacement is that no one has any idea of how good or bad Osweiler is. The only time he takes the field in regular season is mop-up, run the ball duty. His preseason games have not been real amazing but it is preseason. I also don't think the Manning offense is the best for Osweiler. Just a lot of question marks.

Another aspect, many of our FAs are here for a SB chance and think Manning gives them that chance. Keeping Manning means a happy locker room. Moving to Osweiler could give us some disgruntled vets.

Not so sure about the disgruntled vets comment. I think many are just as concerned about Manning holding up for the year as many of us are and it could be,under the new coaching system that's going to be implemented, the just might be more on board to see what a young, big, strong armed more athletic OZ could do for this team also.
