Cowboys signed S Abram Elam to a one-year contract.
The safety market is flooded, leading to bargain one-year rates for Elam and Gerald Sensabaugh in Dallas. Elam played strong safety under coordinator Rob Ryan in Cleveland the past two years, so he's a natural fit. It's not clear which player will be changing positions, as Sensabaugh is also a strong safety. Either way, Elam is a major upgrade on Alan Ball, who struggled opposite Sensabaugh last year.

I'd be pretty stoked if he came back for another season... I wasn't interested in breaking the bank for him, but maybe since the safety market is drying up he will sign the popular 1 yr deal with us for a reasonable price and test FA again next yr.
