I don't think so. He hadn't visited here. I don't think it was anything more than rumor. The 49ers weren't going to pay him regardless. He is just blowing smoke.

I wouldnt categorize it as bad. They are a defensive dominant team that has a run heavy offense like the 49ers have been. Time will tell how it all works out.

The reason I say bad because their offense doesn't score. Defense carried them the whole playoffs. I agree we have similar offenses but our offense can put up points. Perfect example was the superbowl last year. If our D played lights out like seattle's D played this year we would of won the superbowl in the same fashion that Seattle won this year. IF the D came to play at all we win that game. The D had a bad game. I can live with that. They usually play well.

Yeah, our D has been dominant without the dominant secondary. We had physical safety play but never great coverage. I think part of it is scheme. Reid is a good start to fix that, but like you say, we need that top CB.

Also... just take a page from Seattle. Have the DB's hold like hell every play. Might get called a couple times a game, but for the rest of the game you are really limiting the passing game.

Tate is not a weapon. Just ask any Seahawks fan. Also, Evans is not gonna drop down far enough to be within our reach.
