They are tops in the league in offense and defense per 100 possessions. This team is a lot of fun to watch. I think they win the title this year, assuming good health.

So the Warriors clinched the Pacific for the first time in 39 years and my buddy's reaction was "you can bet they wouldn't have won if Stern was still commissioner."



So, what team would've have won if Stern was commissioner? Being as he's been out exactly one season, and there have been such obvious monumental changes in the NBA landscape.

Must be a 'New Era'... at least until things don't fit your vision.

Silly statement... and meaningless. Seems there are so many 'conspiracy theorists' when their team doesn't win, or the season doesn't go as they feel it should. But, when their team does win, suddenly that team has overcome the conspiracy (as if a man in power who could really control that, would allow that to happen... why would he?), or the 'conspiracy theorists' disappear in droves.

Huge accomplishment for a team to win one in 39 years. And obviously, their fans are awesome, and 'deserve' this win. Seems to me there is a lot of concern for individual player hardware by the team and its brass in NorCal. Let's first see if they can win a title, as most championship teams win titles, then worry about awards. I don't think they will. At least not this season. As long as they have to face at least one WC power at full health.

But, they are 'almost undefeated', and 'could win 70 games'!!

Good luck in the playoffs. Things are only going to get tougher. Unless GS gets to keep playing teams with significant injuries. If they get to the Finals, against whatever weak-sister the Leastern Conference puts up, they will win. If...

As I posted on the Warriors board, sure championships matter, but in terms of sheer ability and execution, this team would destroy the 1975 Warriors, and that's not even up for debate. The game has changed and modern teams are far more athletic and deep and well coached.

The only reason they may not win the title this year is because the Spurs, Grizzlies, Cavs and about 5 other teams are also better than the 1975 Warriors. Titles are what you try to get, of course, but in terms of plain basketball skill it's not even a debate.

This Ws team is about as good as it gets in this sport, they play great D, they play great and entertaining O, they are deep, they have chemistry, not a single player is a jerk. This is the gold standard.

The playoffs are gonna be amazing this year.
