Going to Vegas this weekend - USC vrs LSU . what to expect

With all the movement of players these days, this is the first year I don't know what to expect from my team and even less about the opponent, LSU. Anyone know what's the strengths and weaknesses of LSU this year? Am I looking at another big game disappointment?

LSU should be stronger on D but weaker on O this year. Losing Daniels plus two 1,000 yard receivers hurts LSU - it will be interesting to see what new QB Garrett Nussmeier does. LSU should be much better on D though and their LB unit looks particularly strong.
As for USC - they could be better than expected, as they fell apart at the end of last season and were disappointing. I think new QB Miller Moss should have a very strong season, the Trojans will need their D to improve a lot, they allowed 34 points a game last season and were generally awful on that side of the ball. They add in several transfers on D and have a new DC so I expect some improvement but they haven’t had a good D in a while.

I think USC has a decent shot at pulling off the upset to be honest, LSU’s offense is definitely down some and I could see the Trojans outscoring them.

LSU is returning alot of guys that were a part of that bad defense. the secondary the Dbs specifically are all the same. they did very little in portal to address that. on the other side USC brought in 2 guys in secondary that were on a top 10 defense in 2023 for UCLA along with their DC. and 2 guys that were solid for oregon st. crazy stat the oregon st transfer at safety has given up one td pass in 3 seasons.

If you follow sports.....they are typically younger players who get their first starting experience. And experience generally helps players.

I'm being told bet the over that a lot of points will be scored.

If you follow sports.....they are typically younger players who get their first starting experience. And experience generally helps players.

What about USC's bad defense last season and they lost some playmakers to the NFL.....any thoughts about that?

The defense should be better coached. I don;t know it the talent level rises to where it needs to be, to be competitive in their new conference. But they do have weapons on offense and a QB that looks like he can run the offense well since he's been there for a few years.

I agree with that, I was pissed about UCLA losing D'Anton Lynn to crosstown rival USC but they offered him a raise from what we were paying him. He is a pretty nice DC.

Still there could be a talent issue.

We just don't grow them like they do in the midwest. Wisconsin/Ohio/Michigan/Iowa boys are just bigger.

USC should have an offense. LSU lost just about everyone. USC is gonna score, but don't wait on LSU to score much. I don't know how they have LSU as 4.5 favorites, but they the experts. Not touching this game with even the fake money here. But when time comes, I might homer out and take LSU to win, but not the spread. This isn't a good game for LSU to open with. No offense, even less defense. Gonna be a long night.
