And honestly, I lost the weight in the weeks just before I got diagnosed, but I have kept it off because I only take in about 20-30g carbs per meal.Diabetes is a slightly different conversation because now we’re talking about a pathology released to carb metabolism.
Cut the carbs, not the meat.
well the diabetes plays a role too, things work dont get me wrong i think my post came off wrong, well i know it did. regardless congratsI agree with you. Just sayin, that when I quit sugar (diabetic) I went from 205 to 175.
this is kinda what i meantSoy produces estrogen in men. Avoid it.
Just stop eating so much and hit the gym. It's not rocket science.
It’s not rocket science, but there are some tweaks you can make to make your life easier depending on your goals. That said, ideally people would be more worried about living an overall healthy lifestyle including getting consistent physical activity and not eating like pure shit all the time than they’re worried about losing “x” amount of weight or trying to attain a certain physique.
drinks can killlllllll you, im a coffee and water guyI've been an ISSA certified trainer for 20+ years. I've written just about every diet imaginable for clients. The key is exercise...burning more calories than you consume regardless of what diet you are on.
I don't know if OP drinks, but a lot of folks drink a lot of their calories w beer and liquor. Eating salad won't really help if you're slugging down a bunch of alcohol at night. That's a big one for folks. My sister and bro in law both spend $180 a month (ridiculous) for group personal training, then throw down 2-3 bottles of Jack a night. I just sit back and shake my head sometimes.

but if meat is omar's downfall, cutting it out may help him tbh
if u eat 50 lbs a day it isMeat isn’t really anybody’s downfall tbh.

i agrree im just stating it could be a downfallThen you don’t have a meat problem. You have an eating disorder in general and you probably need psychiatric help.
By faux-vegetarian, I mean that I'm not going totally vegetarian. I thought about that, but then thought about 1.) How easily I will fail miserably and 2.) times like, for example, this Easter Sunday where if I don't eat meat (my mother's ham) I will be crucified.
That being said, I am going to try to severely limit my meat intake. I am overweight, drink a ton, smoke some, etc. I need to lose weight, and there's no better way to do this than going vegetarian (or faux-vegetarian).
Look, I know vegetarianism is gay. Gay as hell. I fucking agree. But I do need to lose weight, so I'm doing it.
I will post all my failures in this thread, as well as update you all as to where I am at.
Close. Ketones are a byproduct of beta oxidation (burning fat/protein for energy). If you go too hardcore you can actually end up with ketoacidosis which is not desirable. Physiologically speaking I don’t like the idea of cutting out carbs altogether because your body needs glucose, especially during high intensity activities. Your body can’t burn fat aerobically. The key is to moderate your carb intake so you’re not completely carb loaded, and add in a moderate to high intensity work out roughly 3x/week. Ideally you want to work out at 70-80% of your max heart rate. That’s where your body will begin to mobilize fat stores which will be used by beta oxidation immediately following exercise. It won’t actually burn the fat during that high intensity exercise though so you need some level of glucose or glycogen stores for energy during the exercise.
That's exactly what I said, quit trolling me and being annoying.

No it’s not, bud. You said your body can use ketones for energy. That’s not true. Your body uses fat/protein for energy if glucose isn’t available and ketones are a byproduct. I’m not trolling you, bud. Just trying to make sure the correct information is out there. Lots of incorrect information gets tossed about all over the place in regards to nutrition and diet. My education has a fairly strong emphasis on this stuff so I like to supply correct information when I can.
