Going forward into next season

I don't get why LSU can play la-monroe at night, but a VT 7pm Saturday kickoff happens once every 6 years.

Because fans traveling from NOVA and Tidewater have expressed over the years their preference to attend VT games without having to book a hotel. But I agree, we should be able to put at least one of the low profile OOC or ACC games at night especially if the game isn't on TV. Duke, Maryland, Marshall could easily be late afternoon or evening games this year.

This means we'll have 2 prime-time games this season. Both in the state of Georgia. Otherwise, get ready for a smorgasboard of noon/1:30 kickoffs. A 3:30 regional ABC game will be considered high-profile with this horrendous schedule.

I haven't looked at the full schedules yet, but also check how many teams play VT after a bye. The ACC hasn't done VT any scheduling favors since coming in to the league and owning the division.

I will be going to exactly 2 VT games this year. Won't have to leave my city either. Love being in Atlanta for yet another reason.

Also, I feel bad for the seniors... Both student-athletes and regular students.
Not having a Thursday night home game is bull shit. We have gotten shafted by the ACC for yet another season.

But honestly... From a big picture standpoint... I'm happy about this schedule.
Even more people will get behind the #VT4SEC campaign. #GodsConference

I'm totally OK with abandoning Thursday night games, at least in theory. The only problem is the schedule is so weak I don't see any games that will get a Saturday night slot.

rob hit the nail on the head. If we were in the SEC, no need for them. In the ACC... we need all the prime time exposure we can possibly get, ESPECIALLY at home.

That is harsh but I agree 100%. The basketball move was a train wreck (lost two top recruits and JJ's run at the ball defense only serves to cause him to marvel at how well other teams shoot against us). I work in CA and people out here comment on how they want to go to a game at Lane Stadium sometime. The insane Thursday night crowds are Tech's biggest draw.

I just don't get it.
