Crease crashing is common place again and the refs need to crackdown on it...

I know in the Pens/Lightning series, most of them have been pretty bogus. Kovalev and Neal each got pushed into the goalie, and Fleury tripped Malone into himself. I can't watch other games, though, so I can't comment on those.

don't even fuckin get me started. fuckin pansy ass goalies (i don't include my team's goalie for obvious reasons). they're pampered and pussified almost as much as nfl qbs, and they're better fuckin actors than european soccer players. seriously fuckin shit. they'll come 2 feet out of the crease, initiate contact, then flail around like a they're having a fuckin seizure. stupid fuckin refs don't know what the fuck to call and usually get it wrong. i say if you're gonna get 2 minutes for interference, make it fuckin count and knock the guy the fuck out.

i guess it pisses me off because it feels like the wings get fucked by this so often. so many times i see holmstrom get called when his skates aren't even in the crease, when the goalie is not in the crease, the goalie (pekke rinne for example) puts his hand on holmstrom's back, and holmstrom gets called. what the fuck? here, let me punch you in the face while the ref is looking, and he'll call you for unsportsmanlike conduct for putting your face in the way of my fist.

i don't mind protecting the goalie, and if a guy goes barrelling into him, then he needs to be called, but this horseshit of a guy standing on top of the crease getting called for interference is almst as bad as the fuckin slashing the stick penalties.

it's a joke and it makes the nhl look like a fuckin rinky dink operation.

This is nothing new. Brodeur has been advocating against this for years, especially while he was on the competition committee. If you remember the game where he flipped out after Carolina scored in OT, it wasn't so much from the contact on that one play but because he had been complaining of the crease crashing the entire series. That was 2 years ago.

I blame the commentators. There has been a quite a few times this playoffs where I hear, "this player" is "this team's" Holmstrom.
Maybe the refs are listening too.

hasn't come up in our series yet.
some asshole knocked Bieksa into Luongo in game one, but got a penalty on it.

if the Canucks get up by a couple tonight, we could see a different tactic though.

The playoff series up to this point have been known for 3 things...

1 Goalie interference
2 Head Shots
3 Awful officiating

Most of the goalie interference calls i have seen are bullshit. The hits to the head and any lack of consistency in suspensions is nothing new. The officiating is atrocious, so inconsistent from game to game.

Holmstrom kind of has a reputation though and the refs know it. I'll agree that he gets called on it at times when he shouldn't but he also gets away with it as well when he is interfering. My opinion is that the goalie has to be allowed to move across his crease, if he's impeded then it should be a penalty. I think the issue is consistency and when it comes to interference I think the bigger issue is not calling diving penalties anymore.
