that should lock up the Cup this year. it is $2M a year I think for 10 years. Also someone should not let Aquilini talk in public he is not very good at that...

I guess the Canucks have to make a big stink about it to please their new main sponsor. so no more Telus ads in the building?

Hmmm first time I have seen that number , if that number is accurate that is a very substantial raise from the 800k they were recieveing from GM.

"It's a beautiful day in the neigborhood
A beautiful day for a neighbor.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?"

Hello, boys and girls! You know, Christmas is a special time in Mr. Robinson's neighborhood. It's a time for giving, and look what Mr. Landlord gave me - it's an eviction notice. Well, that's why Mr. Robinson has to wear this Santa Claus suit to sneak in and out of his building. But it just isn't a disguise, boys and girls. Because, when I add this little pail here, and when I have this little bell, it becomes a small business. [ rings the bell ] Yes, Christmas is a season for giving, and for taking! And with this little operation, I figure I'll be taking on about $300-400 a day! Oh, why oh why, must Christmas come but once a year?

all Ive seen was numbers not disclosed ... the team1040 (Pratt mostly) was saying the deal could even be close to the $4 mill per year range ... then he went on a rant lamenting the loss of the Air Canada Open PGA tour stop before ripping RBC for sponsoring the arena in Raleigh ... it was all over the place ... maybe Pratt has a "sore shoulder"

General Motors was believed to have been paying more than $800,000 a year for naming rights for GM Place. More recent deals have netted NHL teams much more money.

Air Canada pays $1.5 million a year for naming rights to the Air Canada Centre, home of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Raptors of the NBA.

Xcel Energy pays the Minnesota Wild $3 million US a year for naming rights on its arena. RBC Investments, a division of the Royal Bank of Canada, pays $4 million a tear for naming rights on the RBC Center, home of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes

The Air Canada "pga" tour stop was a 2nd tier event that never drew any big names...except for Weir. Sure, the odd name showed up here and there, but it was a tourney to be missed by most. Hence "pga" in that context. Aside from Weir the field didn't include anybody worth mentioning. And this is coming from a golf fan, who was on the course when Weir won there.

"Comerica Bank agreed to pay $66 million over 30 years for the naming rights for the new Tigers Comerica Park ballpark."
