Thats not terrible. His late season labrum tear in his hip is a concern but I just watched a video of him jumping over some hurdles pretty effortlessly at home so maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill. 31 yrs old. Not a terrible defender...does he play CF? For whatever reason I remember him as a corner OF...but then again, my memory is made up primarily of malt hops and bong resin so wtf do I know?

So does this mean Pagan is moving to LF? Or will he platoon with Blanco?

I would guess that he will be the primary LF, but will sit A LOT in favor of the OF dujour.

As you guys said, if he stays healthy, it has a chance to be a very good signing. I really like Blanco in the 4th OF/platoon role, so hopefully he stays healthy.

Perhaps Oxy is on the block?
Who would take him?

However...

Imagine we were able to send him somewhere for a rack of batting practice bats.

The Giants could still sign Cespedes...

Span
Panik
Posey
Cespedes
Pence
Belt
Duffy
Crawford

I actually think I like Duffy in the 3 hle and move everyone else down. REALLY lengthens the lineup.

Span
Panik
Duffy
Posey
Pence
Belt
Crawford
Pagan/Parker/Mac
Pitcher

I'd take that lineup.

Lotta P's in that lineup, so had sorta hoped for Parra.

I've liked Span since he played for the Twinkies, and hope his health cooperates. Solid lineup.

I like this a lot. We really needed another CFer, not just an outfielder. Span isn't GREAT in CF but he is good enough. Not much to add from me, he should slot right into the lead-off spot, needs to stay healthy but if he does he'll be fine, really interested to see what this means for Pagan etc.

I will add, Span's batted ball pull/center/opposite field percentages in 2015: 34.1%/ 35.4%/ 31.4%. That'll fit just fine into AT&T Park.

Wow. That sounds a LOT like Scutaro/Panik/Duffy
