#sfgiants have signed former Cubs OF Tyler Colvin to a minor-league deal. Left-handed alternative for bench. Two years removed from .858 OPS

I have no orb with the signing, but it is a snoozer. Dude has enough of an injury issue that the O's backed out of a deal with him after the physical, and his only 2 decent MLB years were done in band boxes.

Again, I am not against the signing. It is a no risk, moderate reward deal. It is just a deal we will likely forget about by next week.

He had a good year 2 years ago, and he's still young. Sounds like we should be excited, but it was in Coors Field and injuries have really hindered his maneuverability in the field even at this young age.

He'll compete with Perez and RK for the 5th OF spot. Who knows, maybe he'll lead the Cactus League in homers and force the F.O's hand.
