I like Raheem's energy, but the secondary made so many mental mistakes that I don't know if he was drilling it in them enough.

The Washington Redskins granted permission to the New York Giants to interview Raheem Morris for their defensive coordinator opening. New York had sought permission from Washington, but it was believed not to have been granted right away. It's uncertain when his interview will take place.

Morris has served as the Redskins' secondary coach the past four seasons, and it does not appear he is a strong contender for Washington's vacant defensive coordinator opening. The Redskins have already talked to Joe Barry (Tuesday), Ed Donatell (Wednesday) and Wade Phillips (Thursday) for the position. All have what the Redskins seem to want: experience as a coordinator. Morris was Tampa Bay's head coach for two seasons, but has never been a coordinator in the NFL.

This week the Giants fired Perry Fewell, who interviewed for the Redskins' head coaching job last offseason. One name that could be of interest to the Giants: Steve Spagnuolo. Their former coordinator is now a defensive assistant with Baltimore. ESPN's Dan Graziano wrote that former head coaches Mike Smith and Dennis Allen are possibilities as well.
