Fun topic...

Of all players who have played for the Giants since 2010, who do you think has a shot at the HOF? For young players, feel free to extrapolate their careers. For the purpose of this discussion, any player who played within the Giants org at any time count...

I think only two players would arguably be there based on their careers as already played...

Carlos Beltran
Tim Hudson

Although, I am not sure either get the nod.

Extrapolating for younger players...

Posey
Bum

There is no reason at this point to think these guys wont get in. Neither are there yet, but they have amazing resumes already that should AT LEAST get them onto a second ballot.

Cain
Burrell
Lincecum
Tejada

All put up nice numbers, but are almost certainly short. Cain has a chance to still get there, but he would have to pitch at a #2 level for about 5 more years (or so) to get any real consideration.

Am I forgetting anyone?

Pablo? Only half kidding....he's still not that old, and he now plays in a park he should be able to rake in. I doubt he has the discipline, as do we all, but still...

Way too young to say this but Panik and Crawford have potential.

No chance for Burrell. Not much chance for Hudson. Beltran is closer but still tough row to hoe.

That Johnnie Lemaster is not in the HOF is a tragedy of BoB-like proportions. I mean, it takes real guts to put your name as "Boo" on your jersey. For that, alone, he deserves it. A true champion. And who spells "Johnny" with an "ie" at the end?

In 1985, he played for the Giants, the Cleveland Indians, and the Pittsburgh Pirates—and all three teams ended up in last place in their respective divisions.

Sandoval is good addition. I agree that he will not be anywhere near the HOF, but he belongs on the list of good players who have played here.

HOF is a pretty freaking high bar. While I think Craw can be something special, I dont see "HOF" when I see him. However, if he continues to improve his hitting for the next few years, he could be a solid .280 hitter with 25-30 HR power. That is certainly enough to potentially get on a second ballot.

Panik is SUPER early, but the dude has a ll the tools. his defense is nearly gold glove caliber and his bat control is scary good. I still have no idea where his power came from. I was expecting him to be about a 4 HR/yr guy at best.

BoB you're such a lunatic. You post what a great topic this is, then don't say anything about the actual subject. LOL

I forgot the one lock who would get in if he retired tomorrow: Bochy

Last word freak. Good luck to you.

Lunatic, Freak...anything is better than being a boring negative pessimist. You are the one who needs the Good luck. I ride with God and nothing or nobody can touch me.

Later.

Of course :)

Although, technically, I did say "players who have played for the Giants since 2010". What is Boch's slash line in that period?

If and when Noggin retires, (after a few more WS, no doubt), what about another BB as manager? He's also a former catcher.

I assume you are referring to Brenly?

No thanks. He has been away fro the dugout for WAY to long.

I love Brenly..would be a perfect fit.

The only thing with Brenly becoming Manager is that he would be up all night with Kruk and Kuip in the bar drinking and telling stories. They would be wreaks by the end of the year. hee hee
