Just saw this on ESPN. Very interesting. Either a block, Wilson insurance or both. Too bad they couldn't get this done before last night's game.

Interesting. Doubt we make a trade for him but we could use him right about now.

Also, an unknown team placed a claim on 1b Carlos Pena. Some people thought the Giants may take a stab on Pena.

Outside of Belt, Brown, Hembree and Surkamp to an extent, our farm is shit.

We don't have the pieces to get the deal done, unless we did something really stupid like Romo and Hembree.

I seriously doubt we can work out a deal for Bell, but this does block him from going to Philly.

Carlos Pena was claimed off waivers by a mystery team. Wonder who I'd be. I doubt the Giants want Huff in LF again so he's not a fit for us (though his bat would fit right in). He wouljd be an option for the D-Baggs so maybe it was us. I don't see any contenders wanting him (Philly, Milwaukee, Atlanta and St. Louis all have established starters at 1B), except for the D-Baggs and us.

Unless is was the damn Rookies again.

He may have made it to the AL.

Here in SD, there is talk of the Maxi's being interested in Surkamp and Pill. There is also a report down here that Weez's arm is pretty much blown, and that the G's HAVE to make a deal for Bell.

I would not deal Surkamp one-up for Bell, but I would consider Hembree and Joseph (even though Hembree, in my eyes, is a better prospect than Surkamp). If the Maxi's want Pill, GREAT!!!!!

Too bad. He had a good run.

I just heard it on the local radio station. Nothing to even start it's own thread about, yet...

hey cal, was it from an actual reporter or a caller's drawn conclusion from the Bell waiver claim?

Wilson is the mortar that holds the bullpen together .. not sure they can withstand another loss of the Posey magnitude.

From the host, not a caller. But it was a call-in show, that's why I am passing it on, but not wearing my diapers :)
