I was one of them predicting a relatively close game. This definitely changes things, this QB was a great option style QB. Georgia Southern needs to control the pace of the game with that attack.... Without their QB, I just don't see that happening now. I know I'll get called out on this one, but I also see a blowout now.
Well, I heard an interview with their coach this afternoon and it seems their backup has had a ton of PT and there are 5 SR linemen up front so...may not be as big a loss as first thought.
Just as I expected WVU would play Bama tough last year, I expect GSU to give WVU fits in 16 days. Fortunately, WVU plays them in the first game, and not after the season has started. I am thankful the defensive staff has more than 1 week to get the kids ready for their attack.
The Offense they run requires the defense to play Assignment DEFENSE..with the attacking style they are being taught to play I am sure they will be out of position on occasion..I agree with BB..Wv will have its hands full for the first half and then pull away in the second..
I really like this attitude. I think we may have turned another corner. From Karl Joseph:
"Whether we’re playing a team that’s not as good as another team, we’ve got to prepare the same way,” Joseph said. “That’s one mistake we’ve made in the past couple of years, where we haven’t focused like we need to. We gotta learn to finish this year, that’s going to be the biggest thing.
“We have to approach every week as a new week and approach it like we would a TCU or Baylor.”
Fans need to get involved in this one as well. Need to pack the house for this night game (duh) and be very rowdy to help our guys in two ways:
1. To make it difficult for GS and
2. To get our pups a little more acclimated to playing in electric atmospheres when conference play begins.
I thought it may be a close game or even a game we lose because of that pesky offense they run. Now I don't see how we don't win comfortably after a close first half. JMO
