I am just baffled at who else the Raiders thought were going to offer a 3rd. Pittsburgh? Well that prob. wasn't going to happen because they already wanted DK and it was known towards the end DK and Geno were NOT getting along.

The Jets? I doubt Geno would want to go there or sign a contract with them though lol. I dunno. The 3rd rounder was just baffling to me.

I still think Geno can do some good things for the Raiders and is better than what they had... but I'm just confused why they thought a 3rd was needed.

This is correct, DK did not want to play With Geno anymore. Was it the Athletic that broke that story? I forget who it was. He said something along the lines of " He doesnt see the open man" But coming from a WR they ALWAYS think they are open. Sad truth though is if you watch the all 22 film ... yeah he RARELY saw the open man and more than a few times it was DK. Lockett got the shortest end of that stick.

I want a QB that actually can scan the field, thankfully Sam darnold is better at that part than Geno. But his skills in the other areas are on par or below Geno's.

This is an interesting take...

I was not a fan of getting Darnold but that ranking list seems pretty suss to me. No way is Jayden Daniels the 6th best QB in the league after one year. Putting McCArthy and Ward ahead of Darnold is just silly and more based on a desire to group all the high hopes QBs together than a reflection of where they stand right now.
Darnold is not as good as Smith but if the Seahawks finally fix their OL, he could wind up playing at about the same level as Geno last year. If the OL isn't much better than it was last year, Darnold won't be starting by week 16.

Well, Metcalf currently has a worse QB in Pittsburgh while they wait on Rodgers....

I would take AOC over Mason Rudolph. So, Metcalf needs to be careful of what he wishes for. If and when Rodgers commits to the Steelers, I'd say it's a slight upgrade over Geno.....but not a whole lot.

Screaming hates Geno and kinda invents narratives to badmouth Geno.

Geno will do well if the Raidahs can build a competent line. Sadly Pete hasn't shown an ability to do that

The OL regressed last season and we didn't do a lot to improve it.

I think they are just opting for a more mobile QB than we have had.....and hope that solves it. I don't think it will.....but I am hopeful Geno can get the ball out quicker than our QB's the last few seasons.

Said this before.....hoping we run the ball 33-35 times a game and throw it 28-30....

Being more of a running team may be better than having to throw it 38-40-plus times a game.

Geno had his best year (similar to Darnold) when he ran playaction and the focus was on running the ball.

When Grubb did that stupid ass college no huddle Shotgun pass the ball basically the most of any team in the league, Geno fell apart.

I doubt Carroll will allow that to happen. My one critique of MacDonald last year was not firing Grubb mid season as MM clearly kept saying they need to establish and run the ball more, and Grubb refused to do it. Hence Grubb basically now being blackballed from the NFL and sent back to the minors (possibly forever).

I just saw the truth, I wasnt one of these people that thought he was a top 10 QB LMAO! He is in that 17-18 range but this SOB will always make that one STUPID mistake in a game that sinks your ass. Trust me you will see it first hand. Lets not forget he locks on to one WR and stares them down. He can't make a presnap read on a defense for his life and refuses to run the 8+ yards of open field thats in front of him and instead throws forces and stupid passes.

He has moments where he looks like an all pro only to prove it again and again that he isn't. It's maddening. All the tools but he shows no interest, no fire unless he is screaming about someone who hit him with a legal hit. lol Not joking.

I think most would agree.

Geno had so many of those flashes. The great throws and great decisions. And then just ones where it was like, "Dude just throw it away!" "Run the ball, you had 20 yards of green ahead of you!" Just kind of weird stuff.

I mean let's not forget Geno was a QB that tried to move the football behind his back to the left hand (lol wut?) and then fumbled. Just kind of WTF moments.

I mean he's kind of like Windows ME. It was arguably good when it was working, but it just crashed way too often. That's the best way my tech brain can relate to it.

I mean I still would've been fine resigning him for the amount LV paid, but not for the 3rd round pick surrendered. That basically allowed us to get Emmanwori who COULD (it's a big if) be a game changer on D. In hindsight with ALL things together, Seattle made the correct move. And if Darnold was a lock as that trade was made (let's face it, teams tamper all the time, it's just who gets caught) then it was an A+.
