Sidebar: the Pittsburgh media learned nothing. Rossi's article is entitled "Malkin has Concussion-like Symptoms". Why is it that concussions are the only injury treated this way? We have diagnostic tools for them, so there's really no mystery if you have one. Call it what it is. A concussion. Do you ever hear of "ankle sprain-like symptoms"? "So what's he down with?" "Oh, he has separated shoulder like symptoms." While the MRI can diagnose those injuries, the ImPACT test essentially diagnoses concussions.

I don't like that terminology either Pix.

I think the reason is that people don't have a concussion, they sustain or suffer one. So what the lazy sports media calls it is concussion-like symptoms. It should be called what it is... post-concussion syndrome.

Sorry to hear about Geno though. Hope he comes back soon.

Hah, accurate point. You can be concussed though. They're just trying to skate past the fact that he has sustained one.

And what kills me more is the fact that the media is ALREADY ASKING ABOUT TIMELINES. Hope it's quick...not just because they NEED Geno or because Geno's on my FHL team...but I couldn't handle another media session on concussions.

That's what the media does pix, they benefit by it esp if they get ambiguous answers to their questions. It creates controversy doubt and following.

Just be happy that his issues are the topic and not the total debacle we have going on here with the Sabres. It's a damn mess !!

They're handling this the right way. I mean, I've seen concussions without headaches and disorientation...soooo many other symptoms. I think they're just being extra cautious, and that's awesome.

I'm confused. They waived Boychuk (fine...because a few games was enough of a chance *sarcasm*), so that makes room for Geno to return to the lineup. Then they send Bennett back (fine, because Blysma has misused him quite a bit). Why both though? There's an open roster spot, right?
