I hope youre right Matt. Would be awesome to have the Bruins, Red Wings, Leafs and Habs in the same division. Good game Wings fans. I'll change my sig later, I'm on my phone. And Matt, fuck you for making me rock that quote. See you bitches in the Finals.

That was a great game. If they had a little more hate for each other, it probably would of been an epic game. Detroit's crisp passing vs Boston's relentless forecheck is a fun thing to watch.

Orr's career +/- per game is +.908. I bet you can't find any other player with at least 600+ games played over, say, +.600, LOL. Larry Robinson is the career +/- leader at +.730, but he also played 1384 games to Orr's 657, and is a career +.527 per game. Gretzky doesn't crack +.400 with all his records, LMAO. Anyone got some career +/- for guys like Lemieux, Howe, Richard, etc...?

Trolled? I just posted facts. I couldn't find any +/- info on Mario, and didn't bother looking up Howe, or Richard. IMO, Orr's not just the best D-man of all time, he's the greatest player of all time.

Nobody on the board thinks Nick > Orr. It's just a joke to piss off Sly.

And just like that, Todd Bertuzzi made me his bitch...Meanwhile, Nicklas Lidstrom proved once again that he is the greatest defensemen to ever play hockey.

Gotta say, I do like these sig bets MUCH better than the avatar bets.

I know, I just wanted to look at a different stat and career +/- per game is interesting to me. Not just because Orr's is so great, but because there's some BIG names not on the the list. As for the bet, pretty awesome, LOL.

Also, I know Lidstrom is great. Personally, I think Robinson is the 2nd best D-man all-time :puke: (it pains me to say that)

You know who always seems to get overlooked in these conversations is Denis Potvin...Rags fans still chant 'Potvin sucks' when the Isles visit MSG. That kind of staying power must mean something.

He's listed for +/- per game. Definitely a top 10 D-man all-time in my book.

Both pretty interesting lists. On the first list, the "one of these things is not like the other", McCrimmon (RIP) really jumps out. One could make the argument that he's one of the great under appreciated defensemen of our time, and perhaps the poster child for the "second Norris" movement, in honor of the best defensive defenseman. Also you have to wonder how much Lidstrom's career was jump-started by playing with him as a rookie. Not that guys like Fetisov, Konstantinov, and Rouse weren't enough to train him in the ways of defense.

On the second list, it's surprising to see names like Sakic, Yzerman, Forsberg, and Lemieux aren't in the top +/- list. All four played for some powerhouse teams, one was a freak of nature and the other three were dominant scorers and great in their own zone.

Top ten defensemen is a really tough list to sort out once you get past Orr, but it makes for some great debate.

1. Orr

2.-8. Savard, Harvey, Robinson, Potvin, Chelios, Bourque, Lidstrom

Where would you even start?

edit: completely forgot about including Neidermayer, Pronger, Stevens, Kelly, MacInnis, Pilote...
