You have to give the Giants credit for clawing their way back to tie this game. They never gave up when it appears most of us did. This one has to go squarely on the shoulders of Matt Cain. They needed him to come up big and he did a belly flop. He had the Giants down 4 runs before they even had a chance to get warm. This type game is the reason that I'm glad he has kept quiet about his lack of run support because it is not always the hitters who are at fault. If this team scores 5 runs off the Padres, that should be enough to beat that lineup. Hopefully Lincecum will right the ship this evening. Its still only August.
