D@mn. The only way Timmy was going to win tonight was to throw a shutout.
Oh lol, they kinda knocked heads as Velez was sliding into home, and Whitesuck was trying to swipe tag.
at least we get the heart of the lineup up?
when two forces of equal magnitude of suck collide, I'm not surprised
Soooo are the Giants even gonna finish over .500 this season?
Sure, but who really does that when grilling a few burgers? It's not like he thought "hmm....worst possible outcome is I miss the rest of the year....guess I'll do it anyway." More likely he was thinking "gotta get these frozen burger patties on the grill so I can get back to my party.....FUCK!! Someone grab a towel!!"
In law school we called this fictitious safety dude the "reasonably prudent person." He doesn't actually exist. We all go through yellow lights, cut corners on safety, fail to wear protective eyeware, etc. Doesn't make us stupid. Generally, the older we get the more risk adverse we become, but anyone can cut himself with a freaking knife.
There's a big difference between what Affeldt did and grabbing on to the rear bumper of the N Judah as it goes through the Duboce tunnel....which I did several times as a 7 year old. Now THAT was stupid.

gentlemen, there's this fat lady...and she's doing vocal exercises
grrr...I hate losing to the Dodgers!
i'm out, nite all - get em tomorrow and hope no one else gets hurt performing simple household tasks.
Maybe it was my early days as an undergraduate working in a materials research lab, but tend to think a little bit about the outcome of things I'm about to do. But I don't think it's a stretch for even a careless person to consider that using a knife as a lever may have a bad outcome.
And then, as an avid barbecuer, cooking frozen preformed patties is simply unthinkable. So maybe the the self inflicted stab wound is the correct karmic outcome of that.

I look at it more along the lines of...
An athlete's career is relatively short, and they have to maximize their earnings in that small window of time. Their livelihoods are completely dependent on their arms and hands. You would THINK they would be mire careful than the average bear when it came to activities that would harm these appendages.
You notice I was never upset about Zito getting hurt in his car accident (in the serious way, at least). This is just a whole other level of stupid.
Bochy sending a message to Belt? From Baggs:
Bruce Bochy showered some pretty big praise on the rookie, who was celebrating his 27th birthday. "You know what I like? He's not playing with any fear," Bochy said. "He's letting the bat go and taking aggressive swings. He's not backing off. He's prepared hard for this, gone to winter ball twice, and now he's looking to take full advantage."
Belt has the talent, but he appears meek. He needs to go hunting with Nuschler in the off season. That will toughen him up.
