Agree to a point, but boy we looked second rate against average or above (and some below) teams down the stretch.
I am trying to stay positive but when I see some of the line-ups this board is projecting for next year it is pretty hard to achieve.
I think it is really unfair to EXPECT Buster to turn this around on his own ***8211; he is virtually a second year player, we should probably expect some drop off on that alone and coming of a major injury ***8211; I am not expecting him to be a difference maker next year actually anything above 75% of his 2010 production/performance should be considered a bonus in IMO.
This team needs a lot more than a fit Buster.
Good points Ozzie, but I think that the Giants can get relatively better on a couple of fronts. Hopefully Huff gets better as he's playing for his last contract and hopefully Sanchez can get back to his .290 hitting and GG defense. I mean, if you take the "middle of the road" of Huffs two years on the Giants, he's a .268 hitter, with 19 homers and 73 rbi's (even that would be a lot better than this year, lol). Also, if for some reason Huff has regressed that bad, if they can keep Keppinger, I'd like to see how he'd fair at the hot corner (which might be an absolute abortion) because he just has zero range at 2B, yet alone SS. His arm isn't strong, but at least he wouldn't have to have the same range at SS. I'd also like to see someone like Crisp (I know he has his flaws), but a legit basestealing threat that can hit .270 would be very welcome when comparing it to the production we got this year.
CF - Crisp
2B - Sanchez
3B/1B - Sandoval
C - Posey
1B/3B - Huff/Keppinger
LF - Belt
RF - Nate
SS - Crawford
It's not ideal, but I think it beats what they put out this year.....and that team will most likely end up 10 games over .500.
