Riverbank is about 8 miles from me, nice little town. I have only been here about a month, but I don't think any other "L's" are dropped.

Perhaps it is an Okie thing, a non-biblical shibboleth, where you can tell the insiders from the outsiders by how they pronounce certain words. Like people who call SF "Frisco" are clearly not insiders, but are ignorant knuckle-draggers.
