Hell yeah Havlat! Making a difference once he came back. Wings without Lidstrom is not the same team though. Hopefully the Sharks full roster gets things going. No more White I assume. Thank goodness for Braun.

Sharks Win!!

seriously, without Colin White this team has been doing much better...coincidence?

Fine game by that 3rd line. Any scoring they do is a bonus because Winnik, Mitchell, and so far Moore hasn't shown much hands. But they were awesome with possession time. I want them to relieve top 6ers of PK time, not run around the defensive zone, and draw some penalties. They do that and it will trickle up the lineup, the momentum it can bring.

now if they can keep up the decent play, better develop a strategy against St Louis...they got our number.

First things first, though... Please learn how to beat the fucking Ducks. You can't go winless for the season against those chumps. :L

This team is now officially 4 lines deep with Havlat back, teams are going to find it real tough to shut this team down now. The pick ups of TJ,Winnick, and Moore are going to look better and better as time goes by.

That is the 3rd line, he traded for a complete fucking line for a 2nd rounder and Mcginn lol. Once Handzus' broken finger heals the 4th line is going to be sick

Yep, getting Havlat back puts other players back on the lines they should be playing on.
I really don't care how they've played up to this point, it's what they do from here on out.
Taking my daughters to Anaheim for the game on the 28th, we got really good seats. Never been to an away game, so should be a blast!

I completely disagree. They still cant score. They have 3 total goals in regulation in two games since havlat came back and only 3 goals in regulation in a game twice in the last 10.

They now have 2 legit lines and although the third line was solid with possession, they still wont score. The only way the sharks score 3 is if the top two lines score multiple times. If detroit had lidstrom, the sharks would have had a tough time last night. However, the wings were without 3 of their starting Dmen including the best of all time. Against teams with a solid 1-2 on D (like nashville) the sharks wont score. Now if they can hold opponents to 1 or 0 regularly, then they can win, but I just dont see that happening consistently. Better defensive teams can shut down jumbo's line and then the sharks will be SOL.

Hopefully, I end up wrong, but I still think the 3rd line is not good enough and the loss of ginner hurts more and more. They are getting lots of points, which is great, but still have only won in regulation once in 9 games. That may get them into the PO's, but the sharks have to be able to score to win a 7 game series, and I just can't picture it with that 3rd line.

Rules you cant have 4 scoring lines it doesnt work that way, and since you still dont get that after years years of going back in forth its really not worth getting into a prolonged explanation fest with you lol

one day hopefully eventually youll see the value in a 3rd line that generates a ton of forecheck pressure that chips in with the odd goal. You should look at someone like Kris Draper who outside of 2 seasons never had more then 20 goals, yet is widely regarded as one of the best 3rd/4th liners to ever play the game

not 4 scoring lines, but 3 is possible. And I wouldn't expect 3 20-goal scorers on the 3rd line, but a combined, say, 40-50 goals between the 3 would be good. Draper had double digit goals for 6 years including 5 straight during his height from 2001-7. Maltby was a similar guy average 12 per year from 2000-4. What made them so effective is that they were annoying, physical, tough, but still scored regularly. Draper's goal total from 2003-4 was greater than winnik-moore-mitchell combined.

My ideal 3rd line is the one that chicago had a couple years ago with bolland-Brouwer-Ladd. their top 6 was awesome with kane, toews, hossa, sharp, versteeg, byfuglien. hell they even had kopecky and madden as 4th liners. But that 3rd line was the key to their cup. All three could score and play great D. It was the perfect 3rd line.

Even vancouver's 3rd line last year was great with hansen(9G)-torres(13G)-higgins(13G) [malhotra (11G)]. All three are tough and mean and can score.

last year in the PO's, Milan Lucic was the #9 forward for Boston. That's the kind of depth I look for. Mitchell-winnik-moore does add value with some hard work, but if they dont score, then they are a better 4th line than 3rd. Scoring depth is key and the sharks still dont have it...

Amazing stat for the Sharks 3rd line in this game. Mitchell - Moore - Winnik averaged 12:34 of ES ice time between them. The Sharks maintained possession of the puck for 11:07 while the 3rd line was on the ice. They also spent 9:27 of that possession time in the offensive zone.

That's just obscene. If they keep posting possession numbers like that the goals will come.

On a side note, Moore could have had 4 or 5 assists in this game. He set up Mitchell for a point black shot that was stopped by Howard, set up Winnik right in front who shot wide, set up Boyle at the side of an open net and he partially fanned, set up Pavelski in all alone on Howard who made a great save, he beat 3 Red Wings off the half boards to set up Burns for a one timer in the slot that went off a dman in front then off the post.

I knew they had the puck a lot, but those number are off the charts!!! They played very well!!
Agreed about Moore. He set up a bunch of guys for quality chances.

They did win 3-1 at Anaheim on 1/4, but have lost both of the games at home. Monday would be a good time to beat those bums.

Oh, they did? My bad then... I thought they had lost all games against the Ducks thus far (but had dominated them in the preseason) for some reason.
