If Arias can start tomorrow he needs to. Sandoval just hacks at the first pitch and is out. We need somebody in there for a day or two who will take pitches and let Sandoval clear his head

And the FPOM's, especially after a walk, are maddening!

I realize Panda has a firm conviction that he can hit any pitch, ANY pitch. A foot outside? No problem. THree bounces to the plate? Easy.

What makes it maddening is that if he waited for decent pitches, he would be a truly amazing hitter. His confidence in his own ability to hit is his gift, and his downfall.

Have to agree. It's also what makes these types of hitters so dangerous. As a kid I grew up with Clemete and Berra.They were also the same way. If they could reach it with the bat they could put it in play. I'm really not sure if they actually had a 'sweet zone' so to speak. Just don't think they ever waited on a pitch. Not sure they ever went to the plate looking for something specific. Hard to look for pitches a foot outside or something on a nice bounce. They just had an uncanny ability to adjust to whatever was thrown .... immediately
