It's a Rock Star Party as the Giants win 8-0 and take the series in St. Louis

Tim Hudson plays for the right team because he is a Rock Star on a team full of Rock Stars. He dominated on a muggy, hot day with clouds in the sky but nothing fazes this guy. 7 solid innings only 3 hits, 6 SO and no ER. Buster Posey who came back today caught a terrific game and the Giants dominated the series winning 8-0.

Morse got scratched after BP hitting a ball of his foot ...no problem just call Arias's name and he comes up with three huge knocks and three RBI's. Buster Posey made his presence felt after resting his back which was good to see . Buster wityh a 3-5 , 2 runs scored and a RBI ..Flash Gordon saves the day.Pagan had a nice 2-5 day with a run scored and a RBI. Crawford and Blanco did their thing and contributed to a big win.

It seems like the same thing over and over again with this Giants team. Production up and down the line up and a new hero each day. Arias was outstanding today coming off the bench and making the difference. Proud of all the boys as they Rock out and bring the house down. Never heard St. Louis so quiet for a series. I enjoyed every minute of it. Props to Hudson who is the pick up of the season. He rolls on down that river of dreams and the dream becomes more of a reality each time he gets the ball.

Oh yeah HAPPY FLIGHT ! Put Angel in front and pop open some booze. It's been a great year and a awesome week. The Band of Brothers deserve to take off their shoes and let loose on the plane to Cincinnati. WOOOOO HOOOOO !

Go Giants !! :plane:

Wow. Way to bounce back from being shut out. Hudson and Morse are making Sabean look like a genius. Even small moves like bringing back Vogelsong and signing Hicks and Colvin are having a big impact. Let's see what kind of deadline moves he'll make, but he's gotta be the favorite for executive of they year at this point. What moves do we make? The team is looking good right now. We can pretty much be assured that Sabean is gonna grab some bullpen help at the trade deadline like he always does.

I don't know. I keep looking a this team, and I don't see any holes that need filling. 2B? We have Panik if Hicks stops being effective. Another SP? Maybe, but we have 2 Aces right now, with 2 former Aces and a guy who is throwing like an Ace. Bench? Sure, but what spot does he take? Arias isn't going anywhere. Colvin has solidified the OF picture. Maybe EA? The team likes him, but he just isn't showing up. But how important is Util2 really?

Barring injury, I think the team can afford to stay pretty quiet.

Great way to kick off June, hopefully this game gets Posey going. Should start hearing some Belt updates here soon too.

Points taken, but I think to set us up for a deep playoff run, one could/should look at:

1) Another reliever - we can improve on Gutierrez or Kontos, or whoever we consider to be our last guy in July.

2) A quality OF - we can improve on Colvin. He started great but he is regressing to the mean. I love Pagan when he is healthy, but he can be a bit fragile. Blanco is coming around nicely and he is obviously a very trustworthy defensive replacement.

3) A quality 2B - Hicks has been a huge upside surprise, but has tailed off as well, and his early success is a complete outlier compared to the rest of his career. This assumes Scutaro is done, but I have nothing concrete to support that statement. I like Panik's future, but he is completely MLB-unproven, and it would be a mistake to have to rely on him with a deep playoff run on the line.

I would consider 2B a need. Panik is having a great year and may have figured it out, but .257 before that and .297 in 2011 (I realize .297 isn't bad but it's 30 points lower than what he is doing now). I'd want to give him more time to see how real this is and just keep feeding him those AB's.

SP wise: I think Cain will step up and be better but believe Vogelsong will take a step back.. If we can upgrade, I'm all for it.

(I will expand and write about this later this week)
