You cant call those 2 misses "lazyness"... Lazyness and cant aiming at an open net are 2 seperate categories... Clowe was in that crease when he missed, so I dont know how much more you want him to crash the net, unless you want him to actually sit inside it?
Todd looks like he finally went back to the low cycling system... And guess what, thats the best looking period IMO ive seen outa SJ in a LOOOONNNNNNNGGGG time... A LOT of chances... Sooo, that means Todd will change strategys in the 2nd period since this is actually working well.
^^^^ I really dont know what the fuck Im reading with that chart... your gonna explain to me how it works... BUT SJ did have a great 1sr period and looked to be low cycling again... Then once again abondoned it and played pivot garbage dump hockey in the 2nd & 3rd... what amazes me is the Hawks fans I was watching with were so worried in the 1st and in the 2nd and 3rd were like, why the heck did your coach stop the behind the net cycle work for the slot pass... And I just had to say -- its Todd Fucking McClellen... Another, whos actuaally a very knowledgable hockey fan asked, why wouldnt the coach try putting some of those extra offensive Dmen on your 3rd & 4th lines? Your bottom 6 only has 4 goals and you have what? 3 extra young offensive dmen? try the buff experiment, it cant be any worse then what you have... Again I just shook my head -- the 3 he was referring to was Demers, braun & burns....
Its amazing average people, fans of opposing teams can see BASIC shit that that FUCKING MORON behind the bench CANNOT fucking see... I would HONESTLY take Melrose over this diarehia fuckin numbnutz ANY day of the week... Jus cause he coached behind Babcock and was gifted a All-star team DOES NOT MAKE HIM A GOOD COACH... why the fuck cant ANYONE in the organization see that!?!??! Ive hated this hemroid since day 1...
To put it simply Corsi +/- tracks the amount of Even Strength shots for attempted vs Even Strength shots against attempted while a player is on the ice. It's a nice stat but fairly useless overall. It doesn't take into account zone starts or relitive QualComp. In relation to the Sharks 4th line it's more indicitive of coaching strategy than it is player skill level as McLellan uses the 4th line to push play into the offensive zone then calls for a line change so the scoring lines begin their shifts in the offensive zone. The only time the 4th line gets offensive chances is during thier shifts that begin with an offensive zone face off. In the manner McLellan uses them it's going to be very hard for any to have a good Corsi rating.
On a side note, McKenzie is reporting the NHL is looking into possible suplimental dicipline for Clowe for coming off the bench and starting an altercation after the hit from behind on Pavelski.
