Thats not the problem it's a combonation coaching issue and joe thornton stopped skating again, back to the ole half board joe. Why they just suddenly stopped that cycle is beyond me but they need to bring it back
Meh, I'm disappointed in the result not so much in the effort. Puck recovery and zone exits from the dmen was outstanding. Much better without Murray. Forwards had turnover issues in the 1st but were much better through the neutral zone and on offensive zone entries in the 2nd and 3rd. Sharks had all the scoring chances you could ask for against a team that plays like the Coyotes but they just couldn't finish.
You've got to give credit to Smith for playing an outstanding game but at the same time I think it's clear the Sharks need a shake up to get them back on the right track. Something more than line switching and moving people in and out of the line up. Be it a trade or removing McLellan from behind the bench something needs to happen, IMO.
I vote remove The Todd!! How many shootout games as SJ now gone to?? like 4 outa the last 6?? Thats pretty brutal... How where they NHL scoring juggernaunts, then just completely said fuck that system and stopped doing it... Who allows that?? The man behind the bench... I mean we all knew they would cool off, but no one expected this... How many goals have they scored in the last half of games compared to the first half?? Its gotta be an astronomical difference... Why is Gomez on the 4th line?? Funny thing is tho, I think the scoring slump started on his 2nd game with the team (could be wrong). I thought he'd help out on the bottom lines. But I didnt expect him to be paired with Pile on RW & Shit on LW on the 4th line... The marleau/thornton praisers that came out of their holes when those 2 started off good in the first 4 games, have thankfully climbed back in there holes (not talking bout this forum)...
D stayed hot tho at least... But why was Irwin sent down when he was playing so well??
I still vote, somehow swing a deal to land Hagelin from NYR...
Irwin was moved to open up a roster spot so Burns could play in this game. I would guess the thinking is if Irwin can't knock one of Demers or Braun out of the line up he's better off logging 25+ min in Worcester. Should a trade happen I'd expect him to be back and in the line up.
It's too bad he's back down in the A. I like his game and I wouldn't mind seeing him get more playing time. I understand that he would get more minutes in the minors but at some point he will need to get acclimated to NHL level play. You can't just wait until a top spot opens up and throw him in cold. I think the short season is a great transition period for him.
I would hope that they are just waiting until they trade one of the excess Dmen on a one way deal and then bring him back up.
