GDT 10/19 Giants at Red Birds

Similar to Renteria, a great post-season performance is starting to mellow my thoughts towards Zito.

Zito has book-ended this season : he started strong, and it sure looks like he is finishing strong. Remember that his first start was a *complete game shutout* at horrific *Coors field*, and was also the Giants first win of the season. Last night's start will probably be remembered as an even greater performance, a 7 2/3rds IP shutout, to bring the series back home with our two best starters lined up.

If they did, they would have been wrong. However, if posey had come up throwing, it would have been stupid. Mo could have walked all the way around and scored and it would not have made a difference in the game.

Well if you throw the runner out, the ballgame's over and you don't have to worry about getting another batter out. 2-out rallies happen from time to time. However, teams always concede second base to the runner in that situation even though an errant throw by the catcher wouldn't hurt. Maybe it has to do with keeping the infielders in ideal position to field the ball.
