That had to be one of the greatest kicks I ever seen. 63 yarder hitting the net behind the goalpost. I think the net is 10 yards behind the goal post. Plus it was rushed. wow. Another nail in the giants coffin.

He would have made it from 70. It was well into the net.

Gano...hmmm....why does that name sound familiar? Instead we go with a guy named duck foot.

Can we get a statue of limitation on how long Skins fans. Get to bitch about players that used to be Redskins.

It been 7 years for ol' Graham and if we're honest with ourselves. He wasn't very good as a Redskin and as a Panther he has been above average, but nothing special until last year. Since last season he has been pretty amazing.

But yeah, Chalk up another one the Skins let get away/sarcasm

My remembrance is Gano cost the Redskins about 439 Cowboy games and for that reason alone he should have been cut. :nono:

Heh. I was thinking about a Skins/Boys game from Gano's days when I read your post.

It was 2011 I believe and in a game had 9 FGs as scores. Dan Bailey's 6/6 outdueled Gano's 3/4 and a Skins TD for a ugly 18-16 Boys victory. I don't have any numbers or stats to back this up, but I'd be shocked if FG/XP kicking wasn't a significant factor to 10-15 losses the Skins endured from the unfortunate Turk snap in the 99 playoffs against TB to at least 2007.

Remember John Hall? From the start of the 2004 season till he was finally cut during the 2006 season. He managed to suit up for only 23 games during that 3 year period. Why you ask? Because he hurt his damn self kicking the ball......TWICE. He pulled his groin in 04 and missed 8 games that year. Re-injured it again in 2005 and missed 6 games anmd after only playing in 5 games and was finally cut about 2/3 of the way through the reg season after suiting up for 5 games.

Who the fuck keeps a kicker till next year who misses 8 games in a season due to injury? I don't know either. Yet we continued to retain Hall and he responded by missing another 6 games the following year. So out of a possible 32 games. We had a FG Kicker/KO guy out with injury for 14 games or almost 44% of 32 games in a 2 year period and we retained him for a 3rd year.

If there's a crazier ass FG kicker story I'd love to hear it........unless its about another Redskins FG kicker not named John Hall.

Kickers come and go on most NFL teams. Pointless to play the "woulda shoulda game" with them. In many cases a kicker will encounter a slump or might need a change of scenery to thrive. The best FG kickers do well since they are in a good place mentally & that can change all of the time.

Congrats to Gano, but no reason to call out the Redskins for not retaining him. Oh well - bitching is a hobby for some folks.

Because when he was kicking for us, it was GA-NO good quite often.

For those who think Gano was bad here, please look back at the percentages. He wasn’t terrible.
