It happens Smitty. The refs lost the game for Lions against Seahawks then, not the CJ fumble. Last I checked, the refs did not muff a punt.

Don't agree at all there. Calvin lost that game. Nobody ever heard of that rule before.

Whether we know the rules are not, the refs do and should call accordingly. I'd bet over half the guys on these boards have no clue of the punt returner can not lose a fumble after punt team touches it first. I now you do because remember talking about with Ross one game.

I just don't put as much on the refs as some do. There are penalties on every play every game. Some go for, some against. Both teams play through it.

I don't doubt most people are unaware of that. (My only punt return in high school was on account of that scenario. Free play basiclly. Think I gave my coach a boner because I knew the rule.). But had anyone really ever seen the fumble bat rule called before? On any level? At any time?

You should put a lot on the refs last night. They made a shitload of side money throwing the game. (Went from having holes in their underpants...)Defensive holding, Gronk pass interference, bonus time outs.... It wasn't on the up and up.

And as Forrest would say, that's all I have to say about thaut.

Bonus timeout was correct. The team leading doesn't get a runoff if ahead. The second time that happens it's a delay of game. Like the sideline warning thingy. He just made a wierd way of explaining it. Used wierd wording IMO.
