I'm expecting a lot of Michigan responses, but for some reason I feel northwestern is more of a trap game.

My list would be, or top 5:
Northwestern
Michigan
Penn state
UCLA
Michigan state

Anyone care to share? Don't pre-include or assume B1G CCG

UCLA then NW then Michigan

UCLA on top because they are early in the year. Wouldn't worry me so much if in last half.

All good lists. That's the thing. Someone was saying it today: It's hard to be wrong this time of year unless you get extreme with it.

No extreme analysis here. Kugler made a good case earlier today for PSU being the toughest game, but I have to disagree. He said that it's the timing of it and the fact that it could very well be PSU's last chance to make a statement and play spoiler.

People in the media make up shit like this because the Michigan conversation gets stale. These same media pundits claiming Northwestern, UCLA, PSU, MSU etc. all initially said Michigan and as soon as we are on the precipice of November they'll be singing the same song like a fuckin' choir: "Michigan, Michigan, Michigan".

Penn St is a close/close 2nd to Michigan for me. It's still a hostile road game, they've got talent, and O'Brien did a bang up job overcoming the obstacles in his first year there. Their roster isn't near as depleted as the NCAA had hoped and each and every regular season game against a ranked opponent will be their bowl game.

I don't know how long you can preach that to your team before it becomes old hat.

I'll be honest........they're all scary to me now.

I take my seat on the couch each and every week prepared for one of my arteries to finally close up far enough to cause cardiac arrest.

I don't care if it's Illinois, Purdue, Michigan, or what have you

Didn't appear to become old hat for Urban Meyer and tOSU last season.

O'Brien may not even have to preach it. It could be locker room fodder amongst players. If they can win 9-10 games it's 'in your face'.

The game bothers me (at this point) because it's on the road and full of unknowns.

You can't compare PSU this year to tOSU last year. They aint even in the same galaxy.

This PSU hype is completely self-generated and the media is buying and selling it because it's an interesting story.

Penn St won 8 of their last 10 games last season.

It's that very type of environment that is Bo's Achilles heel and he has had his worst losses. He ain't gonna come back from being down double digits at half in Happy Valley.

Just saying.

Wish it were the following weekend so I could see the Pinnacle debut vs. Dunk City. Might try to make it to Devaney for the volleyball vs. NW that weekend tho.

Lincoln got their rides pimped out big time kid.

UCLA:
This will set the tone for the season and defense
After this game we will know what we're in for

MICH: aka Division title game
Pretty simple win start looking for Indy tickets lose start getting rival Pom poms
A loss would suck but there is still a way to get to Indy without a mich win

NW:
They aren't scared have already beat us at Lincoln and they return alot of people back from last years team
bo can't defend fast qb

Annual dud game:
Psu/msu one of those teams will catch us sleeping my guess psu since its on the road
But whoever that team will be they will catch us sleeping I hope not.

not concerned about Michigan at all

That is a definite loss. Why worry?

1. Penn State road game. Penn State won't be in the doldrums like Penn State was in 2011.

2. Northwestern home game, but Northwestern has the offensive talent (Cain Kolter, Venric Mark) to mess up Nebraska. Even though it is in Lincoln, the two past games have not been easy on Nebraska.

3. UCLA home game, but their quarterback is what is the problem. Nebraska needs to really throw the ball against their freshman corners and freshman safeties.

4. Michigan State home game, if Michigan State was not breaking in a new QB and new running back, I would be more worried. But they are. This is a matchup of strength on strength. It all depends on if Nebraska's defense is better than Michigan State's offense.

All other games should be a W.
