jumping in late on this one. started reading the books about a year ago, just starting book 4 now, didn't know they were making a series out of it until i had finished the first one, then i was suitably geeked.

sooo, they fuckin nailed the first season. i mean really fuckin nailed it. kudos to hbo for having the balls t go all in on this one.

this thread is funny because no one wants to give anything away, so replies are all very cryptic. contrast that to the imdb boards where a bunch of fuckin book snobs are going around throwing spoilers around all over the fuckin place. if you haven't read ahead yet, i would suggest avoiding imdb altogether (if you like imdb). motherfuckers.

Ya. imdb has done a great job of identifying all the people who need a serious ego enema. How do people get so pretentious about movies, books...story telling in general? Do they realize how ridiculous that actually is?

I went out and bought the books after I watched the series. I'm only about a third of the way through the first book (haven't had much reading time) and hbo really kept it close to the book. Even a lot of the dialogue is spot-on. It really is a well done series.

Hey. FYI. The latest book in the series came out last month, so just watch out if you're browsing the internet about the series. There are a couple big reveals if you're trying to avoid those, and people will be blabbering about it anywhere they get a chance.

It's a great show, greater books (as is usually the case). I can't wait for next season; hopefully the budget will allow for things to happen as they should.
