Almost everyone played a good game for the Lions. And yet a few Lions-like plays cost us dearly.

Sure there were huge mistakes, but the one I don't understand is whent ook a timeout with ~49 seconds left in regulation to stop the clock for Arizona. Why?

I think it was a defensive injury. You are required to burn a TO when under 2 mins

Wait, what Mr. Millen? Last season Decker gave up 3 sacks and 4 hits in 16 games. In one of the toughest Divisions in the League.

I sent a text to my brother with 11 minutes left in this game that this felt like a loss for the Lions, so really they did not disappoint me. They even exceeded my expectations!

They weren't ready on defense. AZ had just picked up a 1st & goal at the 9 and the Lions were still hoping to stop them from scoring a TD. But AZ was in no rush at that point and the clock was no longer a factor for them.. 30 even 20 seconds is enough time to run 4 plays.

and yeah, they did play well for 3 quarters. That's what makes it so frustrating. Maybe the heat got to them.. I think it was > 100 degrees.

That's a change... usually it's the 4th quarter heroics. The dry heat wouldn't have been so bad for them, but we did get some rain yesterday and had that humidity too.

That is why it is hard to not think the franchise is cursed. You really can't blame anyone on the Lions.
Even their clock killing drive (before the infamous timeout) was done to perfection.

No matter what, they find a way to choke win's away.
