Don't be a jabroni.
It's game night, 730pm start on FDS. Ms. Puck II has a HS softball team dinner at In N Out about 6pm after her game so we should be back in time to see all of it.
Nothing new to report, we've covered it in some other threads but no Jeannot and Turcotte still and I haven't seen anything on Doughty not playing tonight so I'm assuming he is in. If so, it will be the same lineup we have been seeing recently with Moverare, Thomas and Burroughs available if needed. Kuemper the expected starter tonight.
The Turcotte injury has really opened my eyes up on Mallott, he is doing everything he should be as a B6 winger. Seeing him robbed on that spectacular effort goal was a bummer but apparently he laughed about it. Maybe it's just me, but I see more out of Mallott in that spot than I have seen all season long with Turcotte.
If Mallott continues to play as he has, I really feel that makes Turcotte expendable. He's only in the first year of that 3 year/$2.33 million deal, whoever gets him could have some cost certainty and see if he is worth developing some more. Like I said TA had an article on him where fellow GMs basically said he has minimal value around the league - mainly because of the injury history and no solid body of work as a consequence - so I'd take a 3rd for him, clears up a permanent spot for Mallott (or someone else) and gives Turcotte a chance for a fresh start elsewhere.
Kraken are on a 5 game road trip with this being G3, they won the first two against Vanloser and SJ. For some reason this team seems to give LA some problems or makes it more challenging at the least. I wouldn't count this one as a walk in the park and I hope the Kings don't play down to their competition. McCann, Stephenson, Schwartz, Wright and Beniers drive the bus and Montour is always a threat from the point. The Kraken were eliminated last week but I'm sure there are jobs on the line, auditions and they would love nothing more than to beat a Kings team headed into the POs as well as having the best home record at 29-4-4.
All that said, I think the Kings roll this one 4-1 with goals by Kuzmenko, Mallott gets one that counts, Fiala and Buster with the EN for his 20th so he can make it seem like he's productive again and the slobbering continues about how that was the greatest EN goal in the world, fighting off lions, tigers and dragons to get it.
Let's Go Kings!
