Game Thread: G75 44-21-9 Kings vs Oilers 4/5/25

Game day again, big game. 1pm start on FDS. The child is running me around so the lady and I will be grabbing lunch at Chili's while she tans with a friend near by. Kids run you ragged.

Not expecting any changes today, no skate with the afternoon start. Kuemper expected to start, Jeannot and Turcotte still out so expect the same line up. Spence being out last game a bit of a surprise but against a skilled team like Edmonton may be a good idea to insert him. Poor Thomas seems like he will never play a game again in a Kings uniform. But Jill may run the 11/7 too so who knows.

Big thing is McJesus is still out and Draisaitl is 1C unless he is out too because he got hurt last game too again and went down the tunnel and didn't come back. Oilers also missing Kane, Ekholm and Skinner. So I'd temper expectations if the Kings win because they are not fielding a full team. But big 2 points on the line. No matter what happens today the will still be in PD2.

I feel good about this one, Kings win 3-0. Kempe, Laferriere and the lady says Kuzmenko with the EN but I think it's going to be TOTM.

Best look the Kings have had, straight up effort. Bummer it didn't count.

Bummer on disallowed goal. Super nice little play. 2-0 Kings. Fiala with his 30th, which does feel like a quiet 30. But 30 is 30, and big opening goal. Feel like Oilers defense just still sucks. They did just leave Fiala chilling in the front of the net. Kuzmenko with the rocket for Goal #2. Guy just fits like a glove on that top line. Had that great play in the first, and you can see the chemistry he has with Kempe. Ended up in an Oilers penalty in the first.

One of the two games for sure. Like I said, it's all relevant and they were missing arguably the two best players in the league and some other solid players so as Wup used to say let's not roll in our jizz. I'll check out Teh Blog though, this should be myopic as hell.

But it was a solid game, Kings played their part and played well. Two more points.

And agreed, move Glass Guy for Future Considerations. He has zero value around the league per GMs (TA article around the TDL) and doesn't appear to be anything more than he is.

That's exactly what my point was, yes it's great the Kings got 2 points - they beat whatever team was iced on the other side.

But it was basically Hyman and a bunch of Bako Condors, the result was as expected. The only unexpected thing was. Nurse Special which I don't recall happening.
