Don't be a jabroni.
Game day again, 730pm on FDS. Taco Tuesday at the Pucky Residence so that's what's going on over here before game time. This time change has messed me up, heard this may be the last year for it too. I would agree with that, just keep it the same all the time and we will adjust to it.
Not expecting any line up changes except Doughty wasn't in the full team skate this morning and Burroughs took his spot next to Anderson as RD1. Jill said Doughty will play tonight but with him missing a game last week and not skating today for "maintenance " makes you wonder if he is fully healed off that ankle injury. I did notice he isn't as quick pivoting and going to retrieve pucks on dump ins so perhaps he isn't fully recovered yet or worse has suffered something permanent which is a problem with him making $11 million for two more seasons. I guess at worst they could put him on LTIR but it looks like father time is finally catching up with him.
Other than that everything else is the same, Kuemper expected in net and a 12/6 alignment. Thomas, Moverare and Lewis are the expected scratches, Lewis out is a godsend. I'm sure he hates sitting out but it's best for the team.
The Isles are wrapping up a three game CA set and this is last on the docket, they got smoked 4-1 by Anaheim on Sunday. The Islanders have given up 5 PP goals the last 4 games and have been scored on first 38 times which leads the NHL. Maybe the Kings can pounce early and also get the anemic PP going. With Nelson traded to Colorado and Barzal out with injury Lee is their 1C, they're 6 points out of WC2 in the EC so they need points too. They're also a stingy defensive team like LA so I'm not expecting another 6-5 shootout like Vegas but what do I know. Sorokin expected to start but he doesn't have good numbers against LA.
Prediction: Kings roll 4-0 in this one, goals by Fiala, Kempe, Gavrikov and Kuzmenko gets his first as a member of The Brand Line. My ass blows up because I made the tacos too spicy.
Let's Go Kings!
