Don't be a jabroni.
Game day again, can't believe it's already March. Game time is 5pm on FDS. Shockingly I don't have any kids this weekend (ex weekend with boys, my girls are visiting family in AZ) so Pucky is making a filet, bacon cheddar mashed potatoes and sautéed asparagus with onions. I actually have a grill I use out front, nothing more trashy than your neighbor drinking a beer, grilling some steaks and smoking a cigarette while watching a hockey game in the man cave. Love it.

Nothing different in the lineup from the Debacle in Dallas, expect the same lineup. Rittich most likely to start. The Kings absolutely need to come out flying, Dallas dictated everything last night from buzzer to buzzer.
The Kings special teams took a hit the last little while, the PP is atrocious as we know but the PK has slipped a little too. Need to get back on track with that.
Best thing of course is don't take penalties but the Kings are the 11th most penalized team in the league. That stat got me, it's not like they have a ton of fighting majors or anything but it's more of the stupid stuff like Kempe the other night retaliating, Clarke with his guaranteed 2 minutes a game for being a dummy or weird things like Jeannot with the double minor even though it looked like it was the Dallas player who caused his stick to go up. Just play disciplined.
I know I harp on Buster a ton for production but Kopitar has hit a major league slump. He hasn't scored in 20 games and sure looks like father time has caught up. Sad to see actually but we all knew it was coming. He needs to get on the board and tonight he does it - book it.
Weird week playing the Blues three times, I don't think I've ever seen a schedule like that. Season series will be basically over in one week.
Blues are on a roll, 9/10 points in their last 5. Buchnevich has heated up, Kyrou and Thomas are always threats but another interesting stat, the Blues defense has scored 20% of their goals this season which is the tops in the NHL. That means their shots are getting through so getting in those lanes and blocks will be huge. They aren't in the PO race but aren't too far behind WC2 so this is a big week for them as well. Motivation to win.
Schenn played in his 1000th game Thursday in a 5-2 win against the Caps (PLD with a nice goal in a losing effort, wow is he making LA look like a bunch of idiots for not using him properly) so I'm thinking the game may be delayed a bit as they honor him. Ironic it'll be against the team that drafted him but I'm sure the Kings will honor him too. He brought Richards over which was a franchise changer so congrats on a grand, I'm happy with the two Cups as a fan.
Hoping the Kings aren't gassed from the 11/7 constantly and playing last night, but defeat is a huge motivator especially when you got your doors blown off you so prediction: Kings 3-2 with goals by Kopitar, Laferriere and Fiala. "The Facilitator" again with a useless assist making the pass from the Kings slot to a winger who does all the work and then he looks down at his nice shiny necklace missing the goal altogether from 175 feet away.
Let's Go Kings!
