Look how well byfield is standing next to this utah plsyer whos not doing anything....that sllows DD8 to goto the other side of the rink and flip the puck up and out to NJ14! Whos speed was enhanced by the watchful eye of Byfield who then used his sheer will to flip the puck into the net while NJ14 was not sure how his stick made the shot.

Right after I made my memo post I was thinking I wouldn't be surprised if somehow Laferriere's goal would be tied to Buster. Sure as shit, moments later Fox brings up his world class backcheck again - which happened 12 seconds before the goal - and says "while it didn't DIRECTLY lead to the goal...".

Makes me nauseous, just give him his pity assist already.

Bingo. He will be a solid B6 player when all is said and done, I stuck to that belief the whole time until last season. That did give me some pause and think well maybe he can be a T6 player (not T3).

Here we are close to the end of the season and I'm right back to that belief. Last season was an anomaly, like when Moore hit 30, Cheechoo hit 56, etc.

He has been on the PP, PK, top line, his own line tonight alone. He gets plenty of opportunities each and every game to make a difference and just doesn't.

Too busy faking himself out with spins and jukes instead of playing like 6'5"/225 pound player and going to the paint.

You can add being out there for the first EN situation for Utah too and he shot it wide although it was a blind shot attempt.

He's been missing the net a lot this season whether a goalie is in or not.

Switched over to Canucks Knights on CI and Saad just scored :18 seconds into the third, 2-1 Vegas. First as a Knight, 5 games in.

Saw Buster got an assist, sweet pass from Staples to The Fortress.

They needed to make him the 2C and give him decent wingers. Consistent PP time, OZ opportunities, everything Buster hss received.

Arvidsson was RW2 with Dunno and Moore at LW2, maybe not the best based on what the Kings had but better than Name Plate, Arty Retardy or whoever else they hung onto for too long and turned out to be a dud.

When he was acquired that is exactly what I envisioned, you don't acquire a guy like that to be your 3C. Salary structure would have been on line with that as well with Kopitar at $10 million, PLD at $8.5 million and Dunno at $5.5 million.

The whole PLD era in LA was nothing short of bizarre all around.

Four takeaways from the game, interesting mention of the TOI for Clarke like I mentioned.

I stopped tracking when I posted the 5:15 for him, looks like that was the final nunber so he didn't see any shifts in the third. I don't recall seeing him either but that's in line with what I expected in the initial GDT post with Anderson returning a full group of defensemen.

Looks like we aren't the only ones seeing this guy may too not be a difference maker. Should be interesting to see if he remains a King or if he is moved in a deal. I'd definitely keep Spence over him at this point.

Just don't see anything special. I jokingly called him Karlsson Light a few months back, but even as deficient as 65 is in the defensive zone he was a dominant offensive defender when he entered the league.

He was always joining the attack and creating offensive chances for either himself or his teammates, I'm not even seeing that from Clarke on a remotely consistent basis.
