I didn’t like Q’s game, I didn’t like where Q was and I thought Sammy, in his limited time prior to that, was going at least, was one of the, probably few players I thought had some energy, some physicality, some intensity, so I just wanted to reward him a little bit. Well, I shouldn’t single Q out, there were plenty of guys to go along with him. He, like the others, wasn’t on his game. I wanted to bump Sammy up, so where do you where do you put him? It’s easy to slide Q to the wing.
About freaking time. Kind of confirms he flies around a lot but doesn't accomplish a lot. I felt he was all over the ice last night but apart from that partial break where he completely missed the net he was a non factor yet again. He's quite the optical illusionist.
Unacceptable for $6.25 million a year and the primo opportunities this guy gets. Turcotte has been more of an impact player, I'd dial back Buster's minutes and opportunities or scratch him altogether for a game or two and give Turcotte the same chances Buster has gotten to show what he can do.
Good old HOS, the classic play was flying down the right wing and either getting plastered against the boards by a defenseman or doing the off foot Messier shot, missing the net entirely and it rings around sending the other team on attack.* ^
* sounds a lot like Trevor Moore actually.
^ about 8-10 years ago I had a meeting in a Newport cafe and Scott Niedermeyer and HOS were in there having breakfast. I think Niedermeyer had just/was recently retired and Johnson was the HS ice hockey coach for a school in South OC. I approached them after they were done eating, chatted hockey a bit, nice guys and got a pic with them.
