Future Virginia Tech Moves...

Hello all.

I am new to the site...but I've been a Hokie since 1999 (my freshman year was our run to the NTG). Anyways what can we expect recruiting wise for 2013 and what are your thoughts on how we can improve our offense?

I know we have 18 verbals for 2013 but what else is left in the pipeline?

Stinny is a great recruiter do we consider moving him to recruiting director and brining in a new OC...possibly Tony Franklin from LaTech (Former teammate of Bud)?

Welcome aboard. The other guys will be able to answer the question about who else we are going after for 2013 better than I can. Our class is looking pretty good though but we could always use another OL. There have been rumors throwing his name around but they are purely rumors at this point.

As for improving the offense, a lot of it would be LT making accurate throws. That would help tremendously but we won't see big results until 1. We get better OL play, 2. We get better offensive schemes and play calling. We ran at least 10 horizontal runs today that were for 0 or negative yards and only 1 that was positive that i remember. Things like that need to be worked on.

I also just read that Beamer was very emotional after the game today...I dont recall him ever showing much emotion after games.

It would be nice to see Beamer with Tony coaching the O and Bud coaching the D...

Keeping Stinny on as the recruiting coordinator will keep our current recruits in house as well.

I agree that would be very nice to see. Get rid of Newsome and Ocain, keep Stiney around to recruit.

I agree. People can say they are happy at their position, where they are at, yada yada yada, and maybe so. But I'm of the philosophy that everybody has a price. And it would probably not be too difficult for VT to well exceed La Tech's best offer possible for OC.

I watched the LaTech vs SJ St game last night and the offense looks good, and with the players we have on our team right now, we could easily convert to running this form of the spread...Franklin does call running plays and add to the fact that he is a QB/Oline coach he might fit well with our team.

Just to warn you, the amount of negativity allowed around here is far more limited than you'll find anywhere else on the net. Well it depends on who it comes from. Me? I've got a shorter leash than anyone else on here. Oh and it doesn't matter if you're dealing with facts either

Welcome VT_Anzo. What a great year to be a freshman. Hokies were losers during my enitre undergrad including 2-8-1 my senior year. And then they have had 20 seasons of bowl games. Tony Franklin would be a very good hire in my opinion.

VTFooz, are you still butthurt about getting a week's vacation. Get over yourself.
