I can tell this guy strikes a cord with you. Religion is synonymous with bat shit crazy with some folks. I’ve met him a while back and I’m certain that if I proclaimed my gayness and asked him for help he would have helped me without a doubt

Believing homosexuality is wrong citing religious beliefs is one thing. Using a public school as a platform and representing the university in a way that is in direct conflict with the policy of UNL that the school is a place of tolerance and acceptance for the LBGTQ community. He believes in conversion therapy for fucks sake!!!!

Study: On gay issues, Nebraska far less ‘Red’ than label suggests

In the study, UNL sociologists Emily Kazyak and Mathew Stange analyzed data from a recent statewide survey, finding that 74 percent of Nebraskans favored laws protecting lesbians, gays or bisexuals from job discrimination. Also, 72 percent favored outlawing housing discrimination against such groups, referred to in the study as LGB.

Finally, 60 percent of those surveyed said they supported some form of legal relationship recognition, either by legal marriage or civil union, for gays and lesbians.

“When you actually look at data and polling, (the ‘Red State’) stereotype doesn’t fit,” Kazyak said.

I will predict that in the upcoming years the church will change its views on gays. This Pope is more forward-thinking than the previous ones. However Lincoln is one of the strictest diocese in the entire country when it comes to traditional catholic practices. This is why I believe religion is in terrible burden upon people. It doesn't allow for you to have free thought you are putting everything in Blind Faith and nothing in science or reality. It's also incredible money making scheme. I would like to ask Ron Brown if its easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter Heaven why does the Catholic Church need all that God damn gold then?

I would also like to note that in recent years huge homosexual and child molestation scandals have come out of the Vatican and the church. Of priests molesting children. Why is he not shining a light on those issues? and instead choosing to go after people who are openly gay and contributing members of society. Instead of the ones who are working in the shadows in his own church?
