I don't know if its general knowledge or not, but DirecTV and Comcast (and maybe all providers?) are giving free Center Ice for at least the weekend if you want to check it out.

You can generally count on a free preview every year for the first 2-3 weeks of the season as they try to get you hooked.
Like a crack dealer.
The first one is always free

We have it here too. Like Bizz said they do it a couple times per season.

I get the regional sports channels anyway, but I'll enjoy the free-view.

I'm hooked.

Looks like I will splurge for it this year.

I just wish comcast had more of the games in HD. They even added a 2nd HD channel to the package last year but this year I haven't even seen any HD games on the 2nd channel. I believe DirecTV has all the games in HD. It's pathetic how bad comcast is (in everything whether it be customer service, quality or reliability).

I was just thinking the exact same thing, my listings show Van-Nas on the 2nd HD and nothing is on.

This has been all season long.

I have Time Warner, and they're supposed to have a lot of the games in HD but they're not on. They show them in the channel guide, but when you select the channel, you get a blank screen for about 10 seconds and then a screen pops up saying that the channel is unavailable right now, please try again later.

WTF?

I never had an issue with Comcast... Although I also dont have center ice. NESN HD is all I need. Well I really wish NHLNetwork came in HD. I dont know if Comcast just doesnt offer it, or if there really isnt an HD NHLN channel.

Jeff, there is an NHL HD channel through Comcast. In Pittsburgh at least. I would give them a call and see if they are going to offer it because it does exist.
