Not sure but surely the Padres weren't dumb enough to take him. After all, AJ Preller is a genius.

I think most Braves fans like what John Hart has done other than that clusterfuck of a trade with the Dodgers.

I mean, we pretty much acquired the entire Padres farm system over the offseason and even managed to get them to take BJ, I mean Melvin Upton Jr an take on ALL of his contract.

We were supposed to suck this year and we are. We actually held on a lot longer than anyone expected. It's a rebuilding period. 2017 is the goal and we have a shitload of money thanks to John Hart's trades.

I do agree with this. I have never been impressed with Mr Gonzalez. But we just extended him for next season too.

Maybe we can get a real manager by 2017, when we're supposed to be good again.

They're only stupid in hindsight. The real stupidity was standing pat at the deadline.

Preller is a two-bit flash-in-the-pan asshole. He'll be a scout for the A's by 2016.

Matt Wisler was ranked pretty high on the prospect list, and he's made his mark in the majors for us.

And I'm not sure how well that money will be spent given that the free agent market the next two offseasons is very weak, to go along with the increasing trend of teams locking up their star players into their 30s...in other words, if they're looking for big-time players, chances are they'll have to take on a bad contract (ie - Rangers with Fielder) and/or trade for a guy in his 30s who may be nearing the end of his prime.
