I can't say this makes much sense. Why sign a 34 year old RB? Turbin is capable of doing relief work for Lynch. If they do sign Jackson that will spell the end for Christine Michael for sure.

I guess Seattle is trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice by taking a second RB from Buffalo, but Jackson ain't no Lynch!

They loved Fred Jackson in Buffalo. This might very well turn out to be a good deal for both sides.

He has to make the team. If he does, then I would say Seattle has improved at RB depth.

Well I hope so. I don't mind FJ, it's his age that concerns me. Maybe Seattle is dumping some money. FJ is probably going to come cheaper than CM and Robert Turbin so they could cut/trade them and the go with Lynch/Jackson/Rawls as their Running Backs. I do like Rawls so there's that I guess.

Part of the reason he had so few carries last year was because he kept leaving games injured. He's tough, I'll give him that. He always comes back for the next game but at some point (age 34?) you are going to hit the wall.

Pretty good get for the Seahawks. He can add some pass catching out of the backfield for them. And help to give Lynch a blow here and there. They've played a lot of games the last two years, they'll need to keep Lynch fresh.

1. Turbin will likely be hitting the IR.
2. Seahawks don't have much faith in Christine Michael, has trouble with the playbook and is terrible in pass protection.
3. Jackson may be 34, but he has nearly 700 less career carries than Marshawn Lynch.
4. In addition to the Seahawks not having faith in Christine Michael due to his shitty pass blocking, Fred Jackson is one of the best pass blocking HBs in the NFL and is good out of the backfield catching the ball.

So looked this up today. Lynch has over 2K carries PLUS playoffs/SBOWL. Jackson (who hasn't really sniffed playoffs/SBOWL) is at 1,200. He's still 34, you can't deny that fact, but there's not a ton of mileage on those legs.

Jackson is meh. I don't think he'll do much but it's obvious Seattle brought him in to replace Turbin. Michael is fumble prone and can't learn a playbook/offense for the life of him.

It's a C signing. Old RB, can do some stuff.... SHOULD stay healthy but who knows. Very average overall. Hardly an F like I gave the Richardson signing in Oakland.

I think this is one of the better signings the Hawks have had in years. Will confirm that when I see the contract. If it's low this is a great signing. ML gets to rest, Jackson has less of a workload than normal. FJ a HUGE upgrade on 3rd downs for the Hawks. I think this move pays off huge late in the year if both backs stay healthy. I kinda wish NE went after him.

This is surprising because Jackson doesn't seem like the kind of guy to sign with Seattle. He isn't an asshole at all....

Interesting comment coming from a Cowboys & Yankees fan.
