We only have 3 position spots sealed up right now for opening day...

C - Posey
2B - Sanchez
CF - Torres

and maybe...

3B - Panda
RF - DeRosa

others...

1B - Belt / Huff / FA
SS - FA
LF - Burrell / Neal / Huff / Ross / FA

This is going to be a WEIRD off season.

I don't agree. I think this is how it will look in March in Taiwan:

C - Posey
1b - Huff
2b - Franchez
SS - Hardy or Peralta
3b - Panda
LF - DeRosa
CF - Torres
RF - Ross

Bench: Whitey, Ishi, Uribe, Fontenot, Burrell, Belt

SP - Tim/Chez/Cain/Bum/Zeets
BP - Wilson, Romo, Affeldt, Lopez, Ramirez, Casilla

Hmmm...

Looks like you pretty much agree with my original post 100%.

Where don't you agree?

I agree with tzill here. I don't really see any blockbuster moves or a house-cleaning session. There's a wayyy outside chance at Dunn and trading Rowand. But it's very unlikely either of those happens, but it's likely that's all we'll be talking about, along with SS.

The way you phrased it sounds like we are going to make a lot of changes and see quite a few players leave.

I didnt mean to say there would be wholesale changes, just that there are a lot of questions with few constants.

Huff is a FA who will cost more money. Not sure he will be worth what we (I) expect that he will be asking. I am not sure I would be willing to give him a Franchez / DeRosa contract (2/12).

Rent is a FA and is most likely gone.

Uribe is a FA and has most likely played his last regular season game as a Giant.

Burrell will probably be back, but as a 4th OF.

Belt is a stud, but probably needs at least 1/2 season more.

Panda is a HUGE question mark. Not sure I want to enter '11 with him penciled in as the starter. BIG off season for him.

Sanchez is signed through '11, and is a solid (if injury prone) starter.

Posey is a staple for the next 6-8 years.

Torres will enter '11 ST as the starting CF, but will need to defend against Perez / Parker / Brown / Peguero in '12.

I would give Huff a 2/12 deal but nothing more. I don't want to be paying him Renteria money to sit on the bench in 2012 if Belt pans out, and $6 million is pushing it. Obviously, a one year +one incentive laiden deal (based on offensive production or something) would be ideal.

I could see Uribe back only because the Giants don't have any internal options ready yet and they may be hesitant to dive into the FA market. Although, I wouldn't expect more than a 2 year deal (which would be pushing it). Crawford is on the fast track and hopefully by 2012, he can make a contribution.

I see Burrell back as he's said that he'd come back in a reduced role.

Pablo could be at the crossroads of his career this offseason. He needs to be disiplened and focused on improving his body and get his head in the right place. I think he has let the fame get to him a bit with all the Panda stuff. Also, he was going into this year guarenteed a spot at 3B in the 3rd slot in the lineup. Hopefully, he can improve himself.

lol, Good game last night Toxy. I have a feeling that's what a lot of these games will be like. When the Giants win, it'll be a nailbiter. When the Phils win, it won't be as close.

One game to one, the Giants now need to take 2 out of 3 at home and then hope for another split.

I think Huff gets 2/12 and I think he's worth the gamble. I think Uribe is back for 2/8 as a backup. I think Panda loses weight this offseason and reclaims the 5 hole and 3b. I think we re-sign PB for $3-4M with a club option for 2012
