This has been expected for some time, but I was hoping one of the rookies would get a year to learn from him.

My advise: Jump on Under 10.5 wins before it goes down to 9.5 or 8.5.

This is brutal.

The OL has gone from the strength of our team to a weakness.

I think the oline has gone from 2nd best in the league to still pretty damn good, absolutely not a weakness. Ratlidge has been taking snaps at Center in OTA, it will be a downgrade from Ragnow, but I think he still is above-average his rookie year. Tackle duo is still elite. Both guards are solid, and Frazier makes a solid 6th lineman. Very important we see a massive step forward for Manu. Decker is getting up there and we are going to need a guy to step in sooner rather than later.

More power to ya for dreaming the dream. Hope it comes true.

We've lost 2 starters, with nothing but downgrade & inexperience taking over. With a statue QB who needs everything perfect up front.

No doubt it won't be as good. Your thinking it is a weakness now is a joke. Long drop from elite to weakness.

I am really not trying to be a pain here, I do a good enough job of that on the bears page, but what is it with your organization? Sanders could have been the greatest ever with the records, Megatron, yeah, I understood he was tired of jumping, stretching and getting hit by 4 defenders, but now Ragnow. I have probably forgotten some. At least I am reading you got a few rookies in so hopefully Frank gave them some notice before the draft, but this is brutal for your fanbase.

Ragnow was purely health related. He had a chronic foot injury years ago, and they found out he did not have enough cartilage left in his foot to perform surgery to fix it. The fact that he kept playing for years is pretty amazing, the rumors of his retirement have been happening for a long time.

Thanks, really didnt hear about that. I guess I am glad I didnt hear about it or some teams might have tried to exploit it like a hockey injury.

If Ratledge isn't ready by seasons start then would probably be Glasgow at center

I think Tate Ratledge was one of the best olinemen of the draft, but since he has no future as a tackle, he slipped. However, I doubt he’s awesome his rookie year in a new position. Losing Zeitler hurts a lot now too. This year is going to be interesting in the North. I was sure the lions would have another year on top, but it’s almost looking like the north’s is anybody’s this year. I might even slightly favor the Vikings even with the new QB.

Holmes places an emphasis on the lines; they’ve been building depth, not just playing catch-up. I think the offense regresses but not by much because the defense gets better after healing this offseason. Rookies and first year starters will go through a learning period, yet the Lions have shown they know how to develop players in all three phases. They’re going to be fine.
