That's most likely 4 to 8 weeks, but at least it's not an Achilles. That's what Scott said any way. Im guessing about the time he will be out.

Yeah - I have been researching it - and I think his season is shot this year which is unfortunate. 12 weeks for the cast to come off, and then healing time. It would be better to save him for next year

It depends on how serious it is. If the facture is a clean break all the way, then yes, but if it's a small fracture, could be quicker

I never expected Nash to be relevant this year, so that doesn't surprise me. I think Kobe is going to be fine. The Lakers need to get some injury exceptions and see what they can find

Yea True Lakers Fan. If its a clean fracture, he's done for the year. The fact that he's headed to surgery means pins go in. Next year is when his playing career will resume.

I broke my tibia, hairline fracture on my fibula, and torn ligament (which happened with the broken tibia at the foot) on one blow.

Obviously, the ligament was the most serious. Wasn't allowed to put weight on it for 8 weeks. Then during recovery, my achilles became the next biggest because swelling messes it up. Then fibula was more of an issue than tibia because of its flexibility.

Yep, Iowajerms, this injury takes a long while and the rehabilitation, as you well know, is incremental as each of those issues you mentioned come into play. It is safe to say that we will not see Mr Randle playing anytime this year. Just like Kobe took the two years off, Randle, being much younger, should be fine after this year. I am not sure how it'll affect his speed or explosiveness he had before the injury though but we shall see.

Randle had successful surgery, expected to miss season.

Like a month, Yoga. A month of Sacre.

Ryan Kelly should be available soon. He'll slide into that b/u PF position. I thought he showed promise as a rookie. He could develop into a solid stretch-4. He has a pretty good idea on how to play defense as well, at least team defense.

^Good info from the Doc there because the injury had me worried with how he broke it. It's not often you see a guy break his leg on lift off. It's usually on impact on the way back down so I was thinking maybe his bones aren't structurally sound but that news puts those thoughts to rest.

Still really sucks for Randle and LA. He was the one player, even more than Kobe, that we couldn't lose to injury just because his development is absolutely vital for the long term health of the franchise. Now, he's literally a year behind because it's not like he got all that much run in the preseason. I hope he develops a taste for film study.

It was a weird play. I think the Houston defender played a big part. He had his hand on Julius' back and looked to be pushing him. Julius was slightly off balance before he tried lifting off that right leg. The left foot looked to actually hit the right leg at that moment. His tibia may have already been fractured prior to lifting off. That's how I remember the play anyway. May need to watch it again, although I don't really care to.

Good news on Randle's leg. Glad to see that once it heals, that the bone will likely will be stronger.

The key is the screws in the pins and keeping the leg from rotating and thus shortening.
