True but anything more than zero is awful, timing doesn't matter. It may feel like it sometimes but August 2014 was a bit more than a week ago.

I'll never go there.. everyone here is calm .... MostlyThread in the main board explains all politics related threads will now be moved there. That doesn’t sound like a bad idea on its face except one poster observed this...
“Respectfully speaking sir....some put it in the sports section because they can comment respectfully there while the PF is a cesspool.....while I don't mind engaging in the PF and rolling around in the mud like a pig in slop...others don't.....that is why they start it where they know they can have a civil convo.....”
Exactly. Admin should let it be.
son of a bitch or son of a cop ?

(although I have a pretty good idea why that specific thread was moved).
The irony is that sports and politics have always been intertwined. I mean, all you have to do is look at the history of the Olympics. From Jesse Owens in 1936 in Berlin to John Carlos and Tommie Smith doing the Black Power salute in Mexico City in 1968 to the tragedy in Munich in 1972 to the US boycotting the Moscow Games in 1980 to the Russians returning the favo(u)r at the LA Olympics in 1984. As far as the NHL is concerned, look at the trials and tribulations guys like Fetisov and Fedorov had to survive to escape the Red Army. More recently, the NHL involvement in the Olympics was a decision of business and insurance, but also had political overtones.
Now we have a global pandemic that has essentially shutdown the sporting world (things are slowly starting to come back with no fans except for those lucky people in New Zealand) and we've developed a fine community here at the Hoop to discuss sports, current events, and *gasp* politics. Hopefully, that other thread being moved was just an aberration (although I have a pretty good idea why that specific thread was moved).
If we just make sure that the first and last post of each page are non-political, do you think we can fool them like the guy who puts a 50 on the outside of his stack of singles?wait til they hear about this thread being spiked with politics!
man, those mods were the worst. yes, even worse than Dash.. So that guy threw his fits, reported a bunch of us all the damn time and got into fights with most of us.

we were all running out of usernames.
The constant bans for even mentioning TSN always got me too. How was it so horrible to even mention a network partially owned by ESPN that shared programming? It was odd.man, those mods were the worst. yes, even worse than Dash.

I once got banned for discussing the OOTS.
mod didn't know what "Out of Town Scoreboard" was, so banned me just to be safe.
You could send in feedback to the mods. that one was so expletive-laced, I'm surprised it didn't result in an IP lock.
