former Steve Moore teammate too :L

wow!

[Todd Bertuzzi's] a good man. He, he is. I mean, he did get dealt some bad cards, and the thing is, [Steve Moore] always thought he was better than everybody else. He went to Harvard, you know what, blow me. College grad. I never went to college, but I can kick your ass. I'll bring you right down to my IQ level if you want. I'll hit you about four times in the skull, that'll bring you right down.[...]

And Todd, he might have gone overboard, and what's crazy is, even talking to him after the fact and talking to Moe, Morris and other boys that were in that, that happened, I watched that tape about a hundred times, and just the way Todd hit him, and he actually grabbed him to soften his blow when he went down, and what happened was when Moe landed on him, he actually hit the back of his neck and it actually popped up. You know, just the way Todd was holding him.

But you know, it wasn't vicious, it was just, it was the heat of the moment. It was one of those things where you, you want to do something, but you don't know if it's gonna be big, if it's gonna be small, or how it's gonna pan out. But you wanna do something. And Todd, he might not have been right and it might have been a little overboard, but you know, he did something. I mean, at least he responded, at least he tried.

This is why enforcers need to go the way of the dodo in hockey. I still am ok with fighting in the NHL, but enforcers are just a fucking joke (especially with the instigator handcuffs currently in place).

On a side note, it's weird that he comments now and still gets it wrong. I could imagine if he and Bert were good buddies and he said this in the heat of the moment right after it happened trying to defend a friend from the onslaught.....I thought most people had pretty much let this go (save for Moore and his family/friends) and Bertuzzi haters.

SCOTT PARKER: And I got my whole totem. Take a picture of this, too. So that's the Kelowna Rockets, New Jersey Devils, the Avs, Hershey Bears and the San Jose Sharks. All the teams I played for

Take a listen to the announcers, very unbiased.

Also, Witt is the guy sitting at the end of the bench who stands up when parker loses his shit, not the guy who jumps over.

I don't think 4 hits to the skull would lower his I.Q, to moron level.
The educational system is at fault here for passing him along.Jethro Bodine is a fucking genius next to Parker.

It is interesting though how the Avs organization essentially wanted little to do with Steve Moore after the incident (and several former Avs players have spoken out in support of Bertuzzi (including Joe Sakic and Alex Tanguay)).

It makes me think that Steve Moore wasn't a very popular guy on the Avalanche.

Even if you are an elitist prick, you don't deserve to have your career ended with a hit from behind.

i honestly think that if a REAL discussion starts about that hit I will cry for the hockey world.

I don't disagree...I just think the fact that Steve Moore lawyered up as quickly as he did didn't sit well with a lot of his teammates.
